Boo hoo, what to do with these AP rates

Should I book the AP rate and save $240 net or should I wait until the general codes come out...IF they come out. I won't be going back to DW this year so an AP doesn't really make sense except to save money on the room. Can you book a room with an AP rate and then change IF the room-only codes come out or no?

You can book a room with one code & change it later if your room is available.

The rumors are there will be no general codes for the next few months.

For us the AP was not worth it to do a Moderate.

But we can upgrade to our favorite resort (WL) for only $247 more then we were paying! For us, it is SO worth it to be at the WL for our trip.

And because we now have an AP, we will be moving our trip next year up a few days so we can go again during our year.

Since you don't need to have the AP in hand to book, I would book the AP rate and then wait to see if general codes come out. If they do, try to switch to one of those, and then don't buy the AP. If they don't come out, buy the AP and spend the extra $240 on something else!

Thanks Lynn and BuckNaked. You helped me decide to try and get the AP rate. Is it a major pain to get the AP? I've heard you only get a voucher and then you have to exchange it for an activiated pass before you check into the resort which would be a MAJOR pain for us. ?

you can buy the Ap thru the website www.disneyworld.com or by calling the reservation number

the voucher can be activated(correct me if I am wrong) at any of the theme park guest relations booth, the oscala info center, or the guest relations at dowtown disney. Not really too big of a hassle...gives us a chance to visit Downtown Disney or stop by the visitor's center.
