12 pm I got a call from my work asking if I could fly to Orlando and attend a conference tomorrow! They'd had a last minute cancellation. I'd stay at the Grovesenor Resort (across from SSR/DTD).

DD will be at camp and DH said he'd be happy to keep DS9. The more I thought about it, the happier I got! I'd be across from SSR! I could eat at Turf Club! I looked up and saw that with DVC ID I could use the facilities at SSR! Laying by the pool with a book...... no kids..........done with the conference at 3 each day.......DTD......eat at Turf Club.......get massage.......I have APs................ :woohoo:

Then, 6pm, I get a call that they could not change the airline ticket and I can't go after all. :furious:

Now I have to wait till the end of the month for Disney Love. :sad2:

Wow. :sad2: That's like giving a kid a gift at Christmas & then taking it back. :guilty:

My organization is having a weeklong conference at the old Wyndham Palace - now Lake Buena Vista something or other. Right across the street from SSR. But I can't go because everyone else gets to.

I could be wrong but I thought you had to be staying at a DVC resort to use the pool-hopping perk.

1. You have to be staying on points
2. You have to be staying at a DVC resort at WDW
3. You have to be the member or a guest staying with the member
4. Pool hopping is not blacked out by DVC
5. You're not at SAB, Dunes Cove, YC leisure pool or AKL pool

I think though, that use of SSR's fitness complex is allowed with paid Spa services. I had to hunt all over the net to find info the actual spa and various services offered, and it looked like it was.

I'm sure I would not be swimming as I don't get in the water even with kids - but I would hope that if I went over to SSR and paid for a massage and dinner at Turf Club, that I could sit and enjoy the view/get a tan while I read a book.
Didn't mean to make it sound like I planned to pool hop - just that I looked forward to strolling along and enjoying the views. I think (hope) that would be allowed :)

Deb - my typing is terrible now because I have my right arm in a sling. Rotator cuff surgery. 6/21/06

Been sleeping in my recliner for 36 nts now and my Back feels great. ( had 3 back surgeries)
