Boo Bash...crashing our vacation

Just saw the dates for Boo Bash. I was really hoping this year they'd skip it. I know every October, we have to contend with the Cash Grab of all Disney Cash Grabs - the "extra" party. I was just hoping it wouldn't mess with our trip this October. I reserved two days at CA, and just saw that both of those days have parties. Yay :crazy2:

I know there's plenty out there who like it. But I can't stomach paying an extra $600 for my family to have an extra 5 hours. Plus that means no World of Color those nights for us. Total bummer for simple vacationers.

I believe there is no WOC scheduled anyhow. I understand the frustration. Perhaps switch up your days so the DCA days don't land on party days. We are going to the party but this is the first time we've been able to afford one of these after hour things.

If it's any consolation, World of Color is currently not running and - based on what's been shared on other threads - will likely not return prior to October. Villanous is not currently on the docket for the OBB either.

Really? All that extra money and you don't even get the big show at the end? C'mon Disney. We know it was a tough year, but you gotta give us something for our $$$

Then don't pay for it. Also World of Color isn't going to be happening anytime soon because some parts of it are cracked/broken irrepairible so for the foreseeable future it won't be around. Also historically Halloween parties have been in October so avoiding them would have been hard.

I'm having to figure out how to change my reservations. I have 5 day tickets that I'm using and i've booked all 5 days. So when I go into the Disneyland site, it says I can't reserve. But I don't want to cancel any reservations without knowing what's available. That would stick me in a fine mess. I looked at the reservation calendar for buying a ticket and it only goes to September.

Edit to add: With much fear, I cancelled one day...and was able to switch. Good grief, what a headache.

I may be in the minority but I'm a little grateful there is one less "must do" thing. Between the parade, treat trails, Villians Grove, etc., there is a lot to do in a short-ish amount of time ... and, to me, it's important to get on rides with the reduced capacity (looking at you, RSR).

I bought a one-day park hopper for a date that now I find is a party date. I would have instead bought a one-park ticket and then also a party ticket, since hopping is only allowed after 1 pm anyhow and party guests can mix in at 3:00.

Since we're required to pick a date at time of ticket purchase, they probably shouldn't have sold me the hopper ticket in the first place.

I know even in pre-reservation times, people would be annoyed when their day was cut short by the party, but this feels different, like I was sold something really useless.

I guess I'll cancel the reservation and save the ticket for another time.

I actually think it's a pretty good deal. My daughter and I are going for a quick 4 day trip, and in lieu of spending a whole day at DCA, we're opting for the OBB on a Tuesday night. For $10 (give or take a few bucks) more than a regular one day ticket, we will get all of the extras, and less crowds. To maximize our time, we will go right at 3, and stay until closing. Aside from that, we're going to do 1 day at DL (rope drop til closing) one day at Knott's, and a beach day. We haven't done DL at Halloween time before and are really excited. We did do WDW last year in October, but there were no parties, and not a whole lot of Halloween stuff going on. They don't even do the NBC overlay to their HM.....boring!! Sorry, I don't mean to hate on WDW, we just really really prefer DLR over WDW ( we would have done DL last October, but of course, it was closed).

My daughter's first trip to WDW was a Halloween Party. At the time, it was also a lot cheaper than regular tickets. We were just going for the day on our way to another destination & it was the perfect amount of time when she was younger. Two years ago, we also did Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party the night before our cruise. It was the perfect send off before the rest of our vacation. We're going on our first-ever trip to DL this year & purchased tix to OBB.... I can't wait!

Again? It was down for a long time a couple of years ago.

Same! I would have felt like we *had* to watch WOC. Now it's one less thing to worry about.

Yeah, I guess quite a few of the water geyser's (is that the name?) rusted and cracked and aren't replaceable without fixing hte whole system I think. I have a feeling it may not return until next year :( which makes me sad just cause I think WOC is so beautiful and calming.
