Bonus received ??? (Very long)

Well, the supervisor came in and took my check and all of the other checks. He's now on a conference call to get it sorted out. I swear, all of this just for what is probably going to turn out to be a small bonus?? I really wish someone knew what was going on and new how to do the job right.

I still get a paystub from my company and I get Direct Deposit as well as the OP. He got her paystub from her.

First of all its a good thing they took the check or $$ back. If U wrote a check for $428 and gave this back you would still be paying taxes on the full $3 grand. This way they can void the check and call back the $$ from your account. Make sure your next paycheck states the correct $$ you have made so far this year. This must be corrected in the payroll system, if not U will end up paying taxes on $$ you did not receive. This also must be done to correct your Soc Sec. I dont know about U but I do not want to pay any taxes or any other deductions from a check that I was not able to cash.

The outcome was it was a mistake. They said that they could take the money out of the account and this Friday we will receive the correct amount. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I must admit the first check would have been really nice. But since I wasn't expecting anything, the new check is just fine with me.

I still receive a stub with a "sample" check that shows how much was deposited. They took that for proof of how much I received along with all of the other employees who receive "live" checks.

I hope it not a mistake! Actually when I read the quote, I took it as that would be the total that each person received. Not that that amount would then be split evenly between the 9.

Oh well, at least it's all settled.

My company paid everone with direct deposit twice for one pay period. They caught the mistake w/in hours of it happening, and sent out an e-mail saying what happened AND that they would be withdrawing one of the "pay-checks" w/in 24 hours. When we signed up for Direct Deposit, we also gave them the okay to withdrawl money from our accounts if an error is made, so that's what they did.
