Our family has the opportunity to stay at the Bonnet Creek Resort in a 3 bedroom condo Now i know that the bus only goes to and from the park and at a certain time. I have a question about the construction. Does anybody know when the construction is going to be done. Also has anybody stayed in the one of the bedroom condos.

I am pretty sure the construction will continue for the next 2 years. It didn't bother us at all. We stayed last year and love it. We were in a 2 bedroom condo and it was plenty of room for 5 adults and 1 child. The kitchen had everything you needed. It was nice to have a washer and dryer too. They even provided you with Tide laundry soap! When we ran out they provided more. The toiletries had Bath and Body Works on them. We loved the shampoo and facial bars and actually got more during the week when we ran out. Ample storage. In the master toilet/shower room they had a closet with shelves. This I used for my son's clothes. In the room with jacuzzi tube and sink it had a big closet that I used for our clothes. In the kitchen/living room there was a small closet that had ironing board, iron, broom, etc and it even had a small cabinet with drawers that my used for her clothes. It was nice to keep everything up and out of site. We had a patio and actually liked it better than a balcony. The pools were great. They were opened 24hrs a day. They had a huge grill which we put to use every night. The on-site food options were horrible and over priced but we didn't mind as we had lots of food in our condo. They did a bar at the 2 pool. The kids activity were fun. We enjoyed game night at the activity center and meet other nice families. One evening we even had an ice cream social. The poolside movies were a huge hit even we one got rained out. All they did was roll out the big screen tv in the atrium area and the kids gathered around. As far as the park buses we only used them once. We didn't like have to stick to their schedule so we just drove our own car. We did however use their shuttle their and take a taxi back. This worked out pretty good since it average out to be about the same as paying for parking. I do love staying on-site but I also loved staying at Bonnet Creek. We canceled out September w/free dining trip to book a 2 bedroom again in October or early November. This time it will be only me, dh, and ds9. You find the best deals when you book just after the 60-day mark. Last year we only paid just over $500 after taxes.

I don't know by opportunity you mean free? Just be careful you are not committing yourself to a time share presentation. I have not stayed there before, but I am booked for January. It gets great reviews. I can't wait.

I am a DVC member and I am thinking of staying at Bonnet Creek on one of the weekends around by weekday DVC stay next June. I know it is not Disney but for a 2br “villa” that is almost as close as some the WDW resorts at 25% of the cost of a CRO or DVC cash room it seems hard to beat.

It will leave me a little extra room in my budget to do something special on the other weekend like a club level CRO stay at one of the deluxes (if I can get an AP or other discount).

I know Bonnet Creek is more than some other similar size units in Orlando but with the proximity and facilities I do not see why you do not hear more about it.

Any past or future visitors lets hear about the good and bad.

I love Bonnet Creek! I think it is a great resort. The construction has never bothered us at all. In fact, it's been kinda fun to check on the progress every time we go back! We'll be there again on Saturday (assuming Hanna doesn't interfere with our flight). So far I have only stayed in the one and two bedroom units, but after this upcoming trip I will have stayed in all of the sizes.

So far, I don't have anything bad to say about BC. I know people like to complain about the bus service to the parks, but I really don't think they are bad. In fact, we never bring a car to BC and always rely on the buses to get us to/from the parks. It has never been a problem.

We are going next month and staying for 8 nights. I am very excited, but a little worried since I have seen some complaints about the customer service and construction issues at this resort.

Does anyone know how often the buses run to the parks? Any suggestions on what building/view, etc. to request?

Any other tips about this resort would be helpful.
Thanks

Overall, it looks great, but I have also seen a few negative reviews. Are you renting or owner? If your owner is a premium owner, I think you can find out exactly which room you are staying in prior to going. I think there are plenty of happy people with BC. I think a few of the review, people just didn't do their research. Some were mad about the bus schedule. They should have checked this prior etc. I would just be specific in preferences. For example, I don't really care about view that much but I need a quiet room away from pool, noise etc.

You will love it. The resort is beautiful and the location can not be beat!!

Yes, it is a timeshare resort so there won't be 5 star service like at a hotel. But the units are wonderful, pool area is great and it is pretty much "onsite" while being offsite.

Don't listen to the negative reviews...you will have a terrific time!!!

We are staying here for the second time in February. Have stayed in tons of resorts in Orlando over the years and this one is pretty much near the top of the list.

Have a great trip!!!

I wouldn't bet on this! I am a VIP owner who can make a request for a specific unit. However, when I arrived on Aug 22, they did not have that information at the resort even though Wyndham Reservations did.

I had requested a specific unit for January 2009 and they showed me on the computer that my requested room with fireworks view was not in their system.

They suggested that if you want a specific view or unit, that you call and they will make a note of it. Then Call two weeks before check-in date to insure that your request is in the system.

I think I was patient and didn't get too upset with them. They noted on my next reservations at bonnet Creek; all of my requests. They even called 3 days later to inform me they added my request to a reservation that hadn't come in yet when I checked in. Be upset if something goes wrong, but if you are patient when they explain it to you, yada yada, then they will be more responsive to helping you.

I did end up getting a fireworks and lake view but had to wait for it to be cleaned!

also, maintenance was quick to respond to our needs. My son kept locking the bathroom door (he has autism). My Dad ended up just getting a nail from Wal-Mart that could unlock it.

My sister in-laws parents have a time share there and we are going to go with them $100.00 a nite for a 3 bedroom for 2 weeks they are getting 2 Condos. I guess that is good? We have not decided if we are going to drive down or fly so it sounds like we are going to need a rental if we fly. I have read a lot of people complaining about the noise which is why I'm asking.:)

We stayed a week in April and a week in August and was not bothered by the noise at all. We have stayed there about 6 times and have never had any problems. We have been in several different buildings looking at the lake, pool, Epcot fireworks, construction and other than seeing the work being done have never been awakened or bothered by it.
