DH and I are Wyndham owners, and are staying at Bonnet Creek for the first time. Can anyone who has stayed there give me there experience with traveling to/from BC using cabs?? We will probably only have to cab it three times, from the airport, one morning to MK, and back to the airport. Do they offer any kind of airport shuttle? If not, about how much is a cab ride to/from the airport? Or to/from MK?

Our parents will be with us for a majority of the trip, but we are flying, and our parents are driving to meet us there, so we'll have a car for the 7 days we are with our parents. But then when they leave, we'll be using the BC shuttles to get to and from the parks, except for the day we schedule KTTK and will take a cab to make sure we get to the park on time.

Any advice you can share will be appreciated!!

Round trip to/from the airport is going to run a bit north of $100. Cab fare to MK is probably going to be another $15 or so. Maybe $20. Ask to be dropped off at the Contemporary rather than MK---for the latter, the cab only takes you to the TTC. The trip to CR will cost a little more, but then you can just walk over.

If it were me, though, I'd just get another car for the duration. It's not going to cost too much more, and the BC shuttles are not super-convenient.

Bonnet Creek changes their times for the bus each week based on the times the park closes. Here is what was offered the week I went, aug 9-16th. I kept it so I could give it to a friend of mine...

Bus for MK & Epcot leave Bonnet Creek at 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30,10, 10:30, 11, 11:30, 12 & 12:30 ..then break until 2:45, 4:45 5:45, 6:45 7:45 and and 8:45 to the MK ONLY.. these all are going to the park..

MK back to Bonnet Creek 12:15pm, 3, 5, 6, 7, 7:30 8, 8:30 9. 9:30, 10, 10:30, 11, 11:30....additional returns at 12:30am

Epcot back to Bonnet Creek 3:15, 5:15, 6:15, 7:15, 7:45, 8:15, 8:45, 9:15, 9:45 & 10:15
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To MGM & AK 8:15, 8:45, 9:15, 9:45, 1:15, 10:45, 11:15, 11:45, 12:15...then break till 3:30, 5:30, 6:30 & 7:30
MGM back to Bonnet Creek 4:15, 6:15, 7:15, 8:15, 9, 9:40 & 10:45
AK back to Bonnet Creek 4 & 6 pm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To Down Town Disney 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm, 9:10 & 11:45pm
DTD return to BC 5:40pm, 7:40pm, 9:20pm & midnight

While I did not take their buses anywhere, it doesn't look that bad. AK & DTD isn't the best, but MK, EPCOT & MGM (sorry I still call it that :rotfl:) aren't too bad. They aren't like Disney's every 20 minutes, but then again, Disney really doesn't run every 20 minutes as they say ;)

You might be better off as Brian said about renting a car, it would save you money in the long run. Especially if you want to go out and get supplies to cook with ;)

Thanks for the replies!

To clarify, for a huge majority of the trip, we will have a rental car (7 out of 10 days). For the last three days we are there, DH and I don't mind using the shuttles because we will likely be a little more relaxed about getting to and from the parks since we will do most of the things we want to do (MVMCP, Osbourne Lights, CP, etc) while our parents are vacationing with us and we have the car. We were thinking of renting a car just the last 3 days, but that still brings up a bunch of problems, such as how will we get to and from the rental car facility? And we will still need a cab to and from the airport since our parents won't have arrived yet to pick us up when we fly in, and we'll have to return the rental before we fly out.

Now I'm looking at a Mears shuttle for transportation to/from the airport. Any experience with this? It would only be $66 round trip for my husband and I, which isn't bad. And then we could just rely on BC shuttles the last few days and save a bunch of money we would have spent on cabs and/or rentals and parking. Opinions/suggestions?

did the mears shuttle before DME - it could be a pain - you might stop at 3 other resorts or none - no way to know before the driver leaves.

would go with their van or others van. the driver expects a tip.
