My husband was going through his wallet and wanted to update our address on one of his reward places for being a frequent traveler. Well they got on this spiel about giving extra points and giving a free 2 night / 3 day stay at one of their resorts. Apparantly Wyndham bought Fairfield and they are trying to do some word of mouth advertising.

One of our choices is Bonnet Creek and hey, free stay after the Member cruise for a little food and wine festival would be great!! NOW, the only caveat is that we would have to pay a deposit but that would be 100% refundable when we take the tour and we have to take the tour which they say is no more than 2 hours.

We definatly don't plan on buying but I want to be armed with as much info as I can. Can someone tell me what to expect, how this system works, should I go ahead for the free stay or any other good information that might be beneficial?

Thanks :) :flower3:

I've never done one, my grandparents own, that's how we stay at ff restort so often, and they do the things all the time for free dinners, $50 cash, park tickets, show tickets, ect (depending on where they are).
I know they just went to nashville day after christmas and did an update thing, trying to get them to get more points or something, anyways they were told that Fairfield bought Wyndham, so be sure you are getting the right info... some groups make thing sound the way that better for them, but with them being fairfield VIP's i think *hope* they got the right info.... hummm...

Well, first you're at least dealing w/ a reputable company. That being said, I'd get all the details and then base the decision on that. Make sure there is no tiny writing loop hole that would disqualify you from getting your money back.

Ordinarily, the Wyndham/FF tours do *not* have you staying at the resort itself---instead at a nearby (nice, or not-so-nice) hotel. So, check the offer very carefully before you put down the deposit.

I wouldn't do this, but my time in Central Florida is already very precious, so the extra half-day I'd need just isn't there.

(The history of the names is not clear to me, but Fairfield and Wyndham are now part of the same company.)

You should make sure you are in fact going to be staying at BC before booking.

We stayed at BC in December (rented from a owner) and received $75 Disney Dollars for taking their tour (90 minutes).

We've been to our share of "Tours" and the sales staff at BC is like most others, they don't understand the word "NO" and will try hard to get you to commit. Like offering 300,000 Discovery pts for a small depost and $100 a month for two years just to try out their system.

We did end up buying points via "resale" on Ebay and it saved us over $10k than buying directly at the resort. pirate:
