I drove back into the Bonnet Creek Resort site yesterday. There are at least two signs along Buena Vista Drive directing guests to the entrance of the new Fairfield Resort.

The driveway leads .7 miles, past the back side of CBR, to the Bonnet Creek Resort.

There is currently a lot of work to be done here. There are two multi story buildings up and no sign of any golf course or other amenities. There is no onsite sales activity at this time. There is even a warning as you enter the drive that this is a construction site and tresspassers will be dealt with. We had planned to take the sales tour, but will not likely seek any off-site location for a tour.

Fairfield does build quality resorts, but this one feels remote and has a long way to go.

Stay tuned.

Fairfield is the non-Disney timeshare in immediate proximity to Disney property, right? What is the Bonnett creek resort?

Thanks for the info. Is there a website on the fairfield property?

They are one in the same.

Thanks for the pics Doc,hope all is well.

We drove past this many a time on our vacation. They are going to have to give a good discount on the accomodation in order to comete with the wdw resotts IMHO. It looks pretty ordinary to me:(

The original plans for the "Bonnett Creek Resort" were to include a variety of different hotels and timeshares. Fairfield was the first to commit and begin building.

Doc, above and beyond in your reconnaissance mission! Glad to hear news from you. :)

But another way to look at it is that they are going to be able to charge a good premium over other off-site resorts because of the superior location. The hotels and timeshare at Bonnet Creek Resort will be the most "on-site" of the off-site resorts.

Actually, the Bonnet Creek Resort is a 482-acre planned development with plans for four deluxe hotels, a golf course, and a timeshare resort.

The Fairfield Resort at Bonnet Creek is a 700-unit timeshare resort on 46 acres (less than 10% of the Bonnet Creek Resort complex).

Thanks for the website Horace. Note it still says projected June 04 opening; apparently that's not even close. I think I'll go with the website concerning the correct spelling though; presumably they got that right. ;)

Thanks for all the info, Doc. Really good to hear from you again. :D

With the apparent Mediterranean influence evident in the Fairfield resort, does anyone think that DVC would go ahead with the original plans for Eagle Pines with a similar look?

When I heard about this resort some weeks ago I contacted them for a sales package.I was interested in the points one and the walk-in cost started at $17,000 and then went up to around $27,000 and all the way was in the 50 plus range.Im not interested in buying but I wanted to see if buying more Disney points was worth it or just buy another resort timeshare.Im very happy with the way Disney operates.Im waiting to see if they do the monorail DVC resort and then buy 200 or more points.

Anyone take the Fairfield Bonnet Creek "resort tour" on their website? All is shows is 4 cheesy pictures including one of a golf course with a mountain in the background. I guess Splash Mountain is no loinger the biggest mountain in Florida?

Doc, could you please explain a bit about the pictures?

In the first photo, the Bonnet Creek Resort sign looks ugly and unfinished to me, without any landscaping. It appears to have the beginning of stone masonry along the bottom left edge. Could you tell what it will look like when finished? Did you see any other logo anywhere to indicate what they're aiming for, as a style?

The second photo includes the typical Fairfield resort sign and landscaping. It looks like it's located inside the Bonnet Creek resort quite a distance from the entry driveway - is that so? I can't read the bottom line - do you recall what it said?

Were you able to see anything behind the recreation building (the reddish building). I'm wondering if the main pool area is built yet as it's supposed to be part of Phase I. Thanks for posting these and your thoughts!!! :)

The Resort sign appears to be a work-in-progress. The wall behind the sign looks like it will be a fountain/waterfall when done. While the driveway is complete, there is a construction tresspass warning posted.

The resort itself is .7mile back from the entrance. I don't reall what the bottom line said either.

There is a lake being built between the two buildings, but no obvious pool completed as yet. The grounds are still being worked with heavy equipment (I wish I had snapped a few more photos now to show the site from the side.)

The security shack inside the parking entrance is not complete. I did not attempt to enter the buildings, so didn't get a feel for the state of the interior. There is much to be done if they are really planning to open next month.

The drive does continue past the resort buildings, but no sign of any construction activity there.

At this time, the two buildings just seem to rise out of a field with nothing else nearby. You can see the back side of CBR as you drive back to the resort.

It will be interesting to see what is offered for transportation to the parks and DD. I have not heard any suggestion that Disney will provide service and would be surprised if it happens.

Me, too.

If I had to guess/bet, I'd say that they will offer transportation very similar to that provided by the DD Hotels.

Thanks for the pictures and the additional explanation. Nice to know what the "competition" is offering. So far it's not tempting me at all! :teeth:

We have been Fairfield owners since 1993 and DVC since 1995. Our experiences with FF have been generally excellent. Their resorts are well above average.

We have just received our confirmation for a 6-day stay in a 3BR in Bonnet Creek, and a 5-day stay in a OKW 3BR to follow in December. I'll have a full report when we return. We have stayed in the 3BR villas at Marriott's Imperial Palms, and there is no comparison with OKW. Two bathrooms vs 4 in OKW says it all.

The second time we discussed Bonnet Creek with a FF rep, he stated that the golf course developement has been put off because they have arranged "something" with the Disney courses.

We saw the entrance to BC last March, and it had not been landscaped. You can be sure it will be very nice, and will not bring down the neighborhood. I am most anxious to see about the transportation concessions made by Disney. Money speaks.
