Bonnet Creek on eBay

We are tempted to book Bonnet Creek and the best prices seem to be on EBay.
How do I know if the seller is legit? I have a fear of paying, getting there, and the reservation has been cancelled.

Any other good places (price and security wise) to book a 2 Bedroom?

with redweek you need to be carefully - they have some RCI rentals that RCI doesn't like their members to rent.

so if RCI sees them -there is a chance they will be closed. these are mostly DVC units but probably some WBC too.

that say if RCI cancels the reservation - you may not get back anything or you may (since you are the innocent party) be allowed to go anyway. Think that RCI was cancelling these reservation last time.

the big key for DVC at least is the $95 charge you have to pay when you check in - this can no longer be paid before hand - so they need to tell you.

dvc members don't pay this thing if they are using their own points - only RCI/II exchangers.

I used ebay for our Christmas stay at BC and was very pleased (got our confirmation in the mail and called a few days ahead of our arrival with our requests).

I would only use a seller that is Paypal protected and who has excellent feedback (also SquareTrade verified). Also, I would only pay with my credit card through Paypal (for additional protection). The seller I used was kwksprop (I think that's right). Others on here have used ebay too, so you might get some referrals from them too.

For the most part, any "decent" deals on Bonnet Creek are going to be from individual owners, so you always have the trust issue. The only way to avoid it is to book it conventionally, through Expedia or one of Wyndahm's own web sites---and that's going to cost a lot more.

At the end of the day, you have to do any due diligence you can, and then go with your gut.

I found lots of recommendations for Ken Price at www.vacationupgrades.com on these boards. He was just great to deal with and I would highly recommend. Look at the advice they give on the DVC points rental page. If you follow that advice then you really are doing all you can. I received confirmation direct from Bonnet Creek and I also called to check that the reservation was in my name. The trip was fantastic and its such a relief to know I found someone who I can rent from in the future as Bonnet Creek really is a great place to stay.

We rented BC on e-bay last year. I was really nervous but everything worked out great. I think the name was renting-resorts. Check it out. Good luck.

We bought off ebay too and I was also a little nervous, but the seller had 100% positive reviews, so I trusted that everything would work out and it did. Everything was perfect-except we didn't get a view of fireworks because of their high capacity-we were there last week. We got our confirmation within a week of purchasing. Just check the seller reviews.

We also just got back from Bonnet Creek which we rented on ebay. Awesome!!!
We just made sure feedback was good and he had quite a few sales.
