Just got back yesterday from a terrific 10 day stay. Already booking next year.

But since I have gotten such great info on the Dis over the years, I wanted to just let people know about something that really left a bad taste in my mouth for Wyndham.

I mistakenly left two bathing suits in the dryer. I KNOW there is no mistake because we were all packed at 10pm and they were the last things I needed to pack. I put them on air fluff and forgot about them. Went to bed at 10pm...left at 5am for airport and remembered at the airport.

So after unpacking, this morning I call and they give me lost and found. Woman was nice....checked with housekeeping and just called me back. Housekeeping said they were not there...nothing they can do.

Here is why I am annoyed. I paid for our unit until this morning. Checkout is 10 am. I called at 8am . I know they did not clean unit yesterday because we never told them we were leaving early. No one had been in the unit since we left. When she called me back, she told me they didn't find anything. That is a complete lie!

Told them I was very disappointed because someone at housekeeping is either lying, took them or threw them out....or more likely, never even checked.

No big deal really, but for some reason this really turns me off to Wyndham.

Totally my fault for leaving them. But there

I would call again, housekeeping might not have realized they did not clean yet and saw nothing in their bins so sid they didn't have it. Maybe after they clean they will now have them somewhere. It could just be a timing issue, never know.

Just got off the phone again. Spoke to front desk manager this time. She also contacted housekeeping and "Carmen" the woman I spoke to who is in charge of Lost and Found as well as Security they tell me.

She said they sent someone to the room to look and they didn't find anything. Yet she couldn't tell me if they actually went in the room before this morning. Then she said two more conflicting things...that housekeeping cleaned the room yesterday and that they were presently in the room cleaning it now. When I asked which it was, she couldn't give me a direct answer.

My guess is they just threw the suits out but didn't want to say that. I actually would respect that. It was my fault after all.

But now I am left with a not very trusting feeling of either housekeeping or management.

Similar happened with us at OKW, our home resort! We left our good chef's knives behind. Called as soon as we returned home (roughly about 3 hours after leaving them).

Nope. Not there, inconsistent stories. It does leave a bad feeling. It's still our Home Resort, but... :confused3

We are a whole lot more careful now.

We went to Bonnet Creek last August and we were called the first night of our stay (answering machine, we didn't want to deal with the time share calls) asking us to check the washer/dryer and around the area for a load of clothes left by the previous guest. They were not there and we called lost and found and let them know, they even called back again to make sure they weren't there, and that we had checked everywhere. I even think the call was from a Carmen. So I can tell you they do try.

Agreed....this thread cracks me up.

I sympathize, but sometimes there are de minimis costs related to going on vacation, this is one example.
