Does anyone have great things to say about Bongos Cuban Cafe? We love Cuban and it's just not available where we currently live. Thought about trying it on our trip in November - but the reviews I've read are generally unfavorable. Wondering if it really is bad, or are there people who might recommend it, hiding out there?

I love Bongos! It's one of my trip musts. My family is Cuban and I find the food to be very authentic. I highly recommend the shredded beef dish, palomilla steak, or breaded chicken. The rice and beans are delicious, as are the various plantains (sweet, green, or "chips"). DH enjoys the seafood platters.

The place is very lively and can get quite loud. If that is not your cup of tea, grab a bite from the Express window instead!

I have eaten there twice. I wouldn't call it bad since both meals were good and we had a great time. But at the same time it wasn't spectacular enough for me to go back again. Not sure that really helps or not.

We've enjoyed several meals at Bongos and never had a bad one. I love the churrasco with chimichurri, beans and rice and sweet plantains. Oh...and the mojitos! Yum!!!
It is a lot of fun at dinner time with music and dancers.

Uhm..Bad??? Where in the world have you heard this..?

The place has great ambience, very good service & the food is very good as well.....We've eaten there 4 times plus 1 time we ordered at the quick window.... One time eating upstairs we could look over & see & hear the band..2 other times we were able to eat outside overlooking the water around sunset...Very magical..

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We went to the one in Miami, not WDW. We thought it was very good and would definitely go again. Of course, there's no Cuban food around us so I have no idea if it was authentic or not, but we liked it. We went there very early in the evening since we had just landed from the West Coast and had to go to bed early for our cruise but it looked like a very loud party waiting to happen.

We enjoy Bongos as well and have had several good meals there. In fact, we're planning to make the drive to Disney Springs (we are 90 minutes away) if the rumors about it closing are confirmed.

Chiming in late, but my family enjoyed our meal there as well! Service was a little slow, if I recall correctly, but the food was very very good.
