I have always wanted to eat at Bongo's (and I know it gets lousy reviews but I want to go anyway!) but can't talk dh into another sit down this trip. I was thinking that on the day we do Disney Quest we could do an early lunch or early dinner at Bongo's before or after DQ and I see they have a takeout window. Can anyone tell me what sort of seating they have and how crowded it gets? This would be on Friday, October 24th, so not exactly peak time or dead time at WDW.

Thanks for any help!

Yes, it Bongo's gets lousy reviews. Count mine as one of the lousiest.

That said, the take-out window is decent. I've hit it a few times, and it works out fine in a pinch. There are a few tables nearby, last time I was there, probably it was in October or November 2006. The prices are reasonable, and the longest line I have ever experienced around lunchtime was about 5 people deep. It moves pretty quick.

Yes, I sort of figure I am safer with the take out window since its cheaper! One of the things that seems to be lousy at this place is the service, so I figure take out will eliminate that issue.

Thanks for your input!

The Take out menu is decent and at the time you will be there you should be able to get a table as long as you are not there at peak meal time.

I can only recommend the mojitos. Don't know anything about what the takeout is like, though.

We get from the take out window occasionally. I think it is pretty good for walk up fast food. Something different and cheap (by WDW standards).

I'm actually one of the minority that really likes Bongo's :)
I didn't know they have a take out window tho. I might have to try it next time. Thanks for the info!

Their menu looks to have some of the classic appetizer/quick foods that might be fun to try -- papa rellenas, croquetas. I'm surprised that they don't have plantanos maduros(fried plantains). Try the Iron Beer -- it's the Cuban version of Root Beer - sort of a cream soda.

It's a shame that Bongos gets such bad reviews. Orlando has some great Cuban restaurants but they're mostly downtown or in the NE part of the Orlando area. I just at at Rolando's in Casselberry last week - it's been there for years and is still our family favorite.
