Hi,
Has anyone been to Bongos on a Friday night? We are considering trying this restaurant, but I'm wondering how loud the "live music" is and whether the crowd will be outrageous. We'd have an ADR - not trying to be a walk up. (We would be there in August, if that matters.) Thanks!

I went to Bongo's on September 30th, 2016. It was our Friday 'night-before-we-leave' dinner. Our server was wonderful and we never felt rushed. We also never really waited for our table. We went around 9pm, I think, so it was a later dinner. And it was loud, but it's a big restaurant and the theme is built around music.

So they are playing live music and dancing. (Sometimes they do the conga line thing.) I would say the biggest thing is that it's dark in there. We used our phones to see the menus. But otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience that I would repeat on any trip back. I think you'd probably be fine unless loud music bothers you.

We went on a weekend night in January (can't remember the exact night as it was a last minute decision) and it was incredibly loud. We had 12 people at our table, and you could pretty much only hear the person directly next to you over the music (we were seated upstairs). We all really enjoyed our food but it was too loud for us.

This is the only downside I'm worried about. Would you say it's louder than T Rex? We had a hard time there last trip and I'm hoping to avoid a similar issue (traveling with someone with sensitive ears...)
Thanks!

Many times. For me though the music is just too loud. We no longer go when the band is playing. It can be so loud that you cannot easily talk to the person sitting next to you. You must scream into each other's ears.

Unfortunately I have not eaten at T Rex or at any Rainforest Cafe in WDW, but it was significantly louder than the Rainforest Cafe in our local mall. I personally would not take someone who has sensitive ears while they have live music based on my experience. We have gone for lunch when they were not having live music and we had an excellent time and great food.

Been there 4 times..Don't recall what day of the week they were, but, a decent sized crowd. We ate upstairs once downstairs once & outside twice. Music is a tad bit on the louder side, but it's a fun festive atmosphere, and it adds to the ambience IMHO. I personally love the place. The food is very good. Service is ok I guess, nothing that jumped out at me. Outside was really nice, but this was before DS changed ...I'm not sure you can eat o/side anymore... Either way Have a great meal.
