We are very traditional biscuits and gravy type people. I read Boma is "the best breakfast in WDW" but the "flavors of Africa" after the name is scary to me since I am trying to plan for 7 picky breakfast eaters.

We are from the south and certainly and "meat and potato" folks, but Boma is a must go on every trip we take to Disney and we go multiple times a year. They do have a great variety of foods from authentic meats, veggies, soups, salads, breads, and other dishes. However they also have more traditional fare, especially for the kids, like chicken fingers, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, etc. The desserts are also the same line too and they have plenty! Most are small portions so you can try a variety without being commited to a big piece of something that you may not like.

I think you will be pleasantly suprised with Boma. We have taken many family member there are no one has ever gone away hungry!

We had breakfast at Boma two years ago, and it was fabulous! There is plenty of "normal" breakfast foods...pastries, fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc. They also have some stuff that is more "the flavors of Africa". I am pretty picky and loved it. My then 6 year old DD who is "uber" picky loved it! When we were making our plans for upcoming trip, that was the only breakfast meal that she wanted to do again....including character meals. Good luck with your choices!

just had the Boma breakfast last FRiday (9/11)...have not posted pictures or review yet, but can tell you it was an excellent breakfast. We seriously did not like Boma dinner (way too much flavors-of-Africa) Breakfast was a whole other story. MOST of the foods were the types of things you'd find on any breakfast buffet in America...including waffles, pancakes, bread, croissants, bagels, made-to-order omelets, a couple of kinds of scrambled eggs, numerous pastries including fabulous pecan-caramel rolls, fresh fruit, dry cereals, hot cereals, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, etc. There were a few African-flavors (like biscuits & curried gravy...it was green. DH did not try it, and he loves regular biscuits & gravy.) Were maybe 1/2 dozen dishes that were the unique flavors variety but everything else was regular breakfast buffet foods. We've been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast...the Boma offerings were better, fresher, hotter and more choices. AND it was much less crowded and way more quiet & relaxing at Boma Breakfast.

We loved Boma breakfast, and would recommend it to anyone.

here's some pictures from our Boma Breakfast on 9/11:

That's scrambled eggs with salsa, biscuit & the curry gravy (eewww), bacon, breakfast potatoes, pecan caramel roll

110.jpg

Starting at top, center...breakfast potatoes, bacon, chive & goat cheese scrambled eggs (tasted like regular creamy eggs), cantaloupe & honeydew melon, pineapple, sausage and a chocolate croissant

119.jpg

Strawberries, chocolate croissant, banana bread square, cream cheese muffin, blueberry muffin, pecan caramel roll

120.jpg

pile o'bacon, seasoned tomatoes (this was an African-flavors item--son thought it was too spicy for breakfast, and he likes spicy foods usually) and more of the breakfast potatoes

While Boma says "flavors of Africa" on it, it is still in WDW and still caters to American tastes. I would say that in addition to regular food items there are some fun and new things to try!:goodvibes

Boma is the best buffet at WDW!

I completely agree with catne's assessment of Boma. We tried Boma for the first time: brkfst on 9/6 & dinner on 9/12. We would probably not go back to Boma for dinner - as catne stated "too much flavors of Africa" type foods. Brkfst, however was very good and we would definitely go back to Boma for brkfst.

My family agrees with all the Boma breakfast lovers - and the Jungle Juice is awesome! It's orange juice kicked up with lemonade and tropical juices.

DH loves his plain ol' biscuits and gravy too but once he tried Boma's version of it he was hooked! They have just a few (maybe 3-5) "funky" breakfast items but the rest of the food is normal breakfast-y foods...great pastries, the banana bread is incredible and I could live on their cornbread
