We have Advance Ressies for dinner at Boma (at AKL) next Friday. Does anyone have any foods they recommend? Any tips? General info? Anything you can tell me will help. Thanks!

This buffet is so vast and offers so many different things I highly recommend taking the sampler approach rather than a best of.

We started with the soups (brought 4-5 bowls to the table with a little in each) and then gave them all a try. I personally loved the squash soup. There are so many things with exotic seasonings, some things that are familiar with a slight twist, and then the familiar. I suggest going down the line and taking a nibble here and there. We enjoyed everything on the menu except the Watermelon Rind Salad and that was unanimous for our party of 8 but there are people that do enjoy it quite alot.

Enjoy, you're in for a treat.

We love Boma!!! We also do not like the watermellon salad! We also like to try a little of this and a little of that! Even if it doesn't sound good try it!!! We go to Boma every time we go to WDW, our kids like it too! The last time we were there they were 10 and 8 years old. Have an open mind and you will love it too!:)

OMG went to Boma for the first time in November and loved it. Will be an every trip event from now on. And yes, the squash soup was out of this world.

What everyone else just said!

Boma is AWESOME, very unique stuff. Take a little taste of everything. YUM! I am getting hungry just thinking of it!

I just tried Boma for the first time last week. It was very good. I would try a little of everything and then go back for what you like. I liked the fufu (I think that' s what they called it). It was like a squash, sweet, cinnamon. I also liked an egg/meat dish. I don't remember the name but it was in the beginning of the buffet and it was cut into little squares. I also liked the flat bread-very simple but yummy. Its near the hummus. Have fun sampling everything.

I recommend the prime rib, fufu, black-eye peas in ginger juice, pork with pineapple chutnery, the sun-dried tomato hummus, any of the soups, and the zebra domes. I know I have a lot of favorites, and those are just the things I remember being there on Friday night.

I would just suggest that you try items that are new to you. There are so many unique offerings that it is a fun way to try new things without having to commit to them if you don't like them.

They have great wine flights here, for a very reasonable price, affording an opportunity to try some wonderful African wines.

Oooh, I'm getting EXCITED! We'll be at Boma for the first time on New Year's Eve!!! Sounds just awesome!:cool1:

Boma is awesome! Love it! We especially loved the soups, but honestly, everything was so good. I can't wait to go back! Like everyone else said, try a little of everthing.

It's hard to suggest things, because the menu rotates. We went on a Sunday and a Friday, and there were some of the same things both nights, but not all. Give whatever appeals to you a try. Some things you'll loooove, some things you won't. :thumbsup2

Bobotie is the egg and ground meat dish. It is wonderful. Fufu is mashed sweet and white potatoes flavored with cinnamon and other spices.

The Moroccan Fish Chowder is excellent also.

Boma is a nice place to have a fun time!
