We will be staying at AKV in October and I'm getting ready to make ADRs. DS is 2 and DH can be picky. I would really like to try one of the restaurants and I thought Boma would be good for the variety.

So, do ya'll recommend it?

Thanks guys, everyone on the DIS makes our trip so much more magical.:wizard:

I totally recommend. Aside from the "African" dishes, they also have a kids buffet with mac and cheese, spaghetti and marinara sauce, etc. Probably my favorite restaurant in and out of WDW :goodvibes

You will find something for everyone at Boma. MY DW and I have dined there four times for dinner with friends and by ourselves. We have enjoyed the variety of food every time.

We love Boma!!! It is our favorite place to eat at WDW!! There is something for everyone there - and all of it is quite tasty! :goodvibes I highly recommend it to everyone that I know when I find out they are going to WDW!

This is a great place because it has usual foods for those who want to give them a try and it offers foods that are "safe" bets for picky eaters.

My family must have hit it on an off night- we HATED it.

The food was not cooked well & the options were not too great either. Not to mention the line was like a zoo (no pun intended). Everyone was going a different direction.

Guess we'll have to give it another try from what I'm reading. :confused3

DH is a plain meat (beef) and potato type guy. His favorite restaurant is Boma. They have a little of everything.

We love Boma !
My DH and I love the sliced beef bar. Our DD is vegetarian
and our DS is vegan. There are many options for them -----
and the chef will walk you thru the selections and make food just for you including dessert.
:cool1:

We were so excited to try this place, and just did not get the hype:confused3

It was all right for a buffet, but people rave about the place.

That said, if you are staying at AKL then yeah go for it.

We went out of our way for it and wouldn't do it again.

Love this place! My favorite place (so far) at WDW!

The selection is huge; there are some "regular" type foods such as prime rib. If you do go, try the Ginger Carrot soup...to die for! Another favorite was the Bobotie, yummy! :thumbsup2

glad to hear we're not the only ones! :thumbsup2

DH and I enjoyed it so much that we booked it again for the last night of our trip. Not everybody loooooves Boma, of course, but it's definitely worth it to give it a try. :)

We have eaten there twice and loved it! Be sure to try the Mulligatawny (sp??) soup if they have it! My DH wishes that I knew how to make it!:lmao: :lmao:

I have to agree...we're glad we tried it, but I would never go again unless we were staying there. The desserts are wonderful, everything else was pretty bad. My dh is not *that* picky, and he could only find food he liked off of the kids buffet. We weren't the only ones- I saw a lot of adults eating chicken fingers. I agree that everyone can find *something* to eat, but there are chicken fingers at plenty of other buffets! :lmao: None of us really liked any of the traditional African food. I don't blame the restaurant- service and atmostphere were good, it's just not our thing.

My wife and I went to Boma the first night we were at AKL in October 2005. We didn't look at the selections closely before sitting down. Let me just say that with the "african" themed buffet, coupled with me being a picky eater- I was not impressed in the least. I basically paid $$$ to eat spaghetti. I was pretty disappointed.

Add me to the unsatisfied list of diners!
We will not return to this buffet. None of us enjoyed it.

Just another opinion, never hurts to make up your own mind. Try it.
