Boma without PS

We will be at AKL June 25-June 30. Sometime during our stay, we would like to try Boma. Is it usually possible to get PS for this restaurant at the last minute (a day or two in advance)? We aren't really sure what we will be doing what day yet, and would prefer not to lock ourselves in to a specific day/time. Thanks.

I know Boma is always busy for dinner. Even with a pre-scheduled PS for 7PM we had to wait for close to 1/2 hr. for a table for 2. I wouldn't chance it, but when you get to WDW make a PS if your schedule is more flexible, especially if you have a big party...schedule as far in advance as you can.

We've gone twice before at the first possible seating, and it was PACKED. It was the slow season too. If you have an idea of when you want to go, I'd suggest a PS.

On our first stay at AKL we tried to make a same-day PS for Boma and it was full. We ended up eating at Jiko which was wonderful, so at least we got a great meal. But we learned from this to make PSs for Boma as soon as you can firm up your plans. I just made a PS for Boma for 5/13 and they didn't have many PSs left for that night, so it can fill up.

For the past couple of years we have managed to make PS for Boma about a week before, a couple of times just 4-5 days before dining. This was in mid-July. We wanted seating around 6pm and had no problems.

I would definitely make a PS for Boma. It always seems to be crowded no matter what time or day it is.

Just an FYI for you -- did you know you can go to any pay phone on the Disney property and press * 8 8 and you will be connected to Disney Dining. You can then make a PS for that same day or anytime during your trip if the mood so strikes. :flower:

Try to get PS if you can. We were there in early December and the wait for people without PS was an hour & half. With our PS we had to wait about 15 minutes.

how's the breakfast there? we're thinking of doing a late breakfast there on our non-park day. (and tomorrow is my 90 day mark to call!!) TIA!

Breakfast is wonderful, you have probably read the threads on here about the wonderful juice. It is a great place!

We were at Boma with PSs for 7pm. We were a party of 7 and only waited for 15 minutes to be seated. The party who was checking in ahead of us didn't have a PS and were told that their earliest available seating was at 9:40pm :earseek: . I don't think I'd ever walk into Boma without a PS, unless I'm prepared to eat much later.

We (DH, DD and I) have rarely make a PS at any of the restaurants at WDW (we've been going once or twice a year for the last 20 years) and have never had a problem showing up at any restaurant and being accomodated for the meal of our choice.

There are always no-shows.

Additionally, cm's at different dining venues have told me that PS's only account for a portion of the restaurant capacity at any given seating time. So, there's always room for walkups.

We figure, this is vacation. We have enough stress in our daily lives that we're trying to escape from while we're at WDW - so, we don't add to it with trying to figure out in advance daily agendas. We've never been disappointed.

The Boma is at the top of our favorites list. Make a PS so you aren't disappointed, or have to wait too long. We find the Boma is more crowded each time we visit.
