Hi when we visit in Oct, we are staying at the CR and are planning on eating at Boma one night. I am wondering though how we get there and back? I assume we take a bus to the Animal Kingdom resort so how do we do that from the CR? When leaving Boma, do we take a bus to another park or DTD to then get a bus to the CR? Hope someone can give me some advise on this as I have NO IDEA!!!!:confused3 Also, what would be the best time to eat in the evening at Boma? Thanks heaps!!!

Not to worry. There will be a clearly marked bus stop at CR that you go to and catch a bus to AK. At AK, again there will be a clearly marked place to get the bus to AK Lodge. If time is short and money not a huge concern, think about taking a taxi (probably about $15 including tip) -- we always plan to take a few taxis during our trips when we're pressed for time; I personally would allow 45 minutes to 1 hour (worse case) for the bus trip you're planning (in case you've just missed the bus each time you reach the bus stop).

In terms of the "best time" to eat -- I'd take into account what else you are going to be doing that day and the normal schedule of whomever is on the trip with you. At home, we usually eat between 5 and 6, but some nights at WDW if we've planned a big/late lunch, we can push dinner back to 7:30 or 8 but we can't do that every night (our DS HAS fallen asleep at the table some nights on some trips...). It really depends on your schedule.

CR to AKL is a super easy trip:

Walk to the MK transportation area and catch the bus to AKL. Do the reverse to return. The walk is less than 10 mins the ride is 20-25.

If you don't want to walk take the monorail to MK and walk down to the bus stop for AKL. I think walking to the bus stop is best as you may have to ride the whole monorail look to get back to MK.

We took our resort bus to MK then simply walked to CR for our Chef Mickey's breakfast last year.

I have had really good luck with this website:

http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx

It's called the Transportation Wizard; you can type in any 2 locations at WDW, and it will tell you how to get from here to there...

:moped: :boat: :car: :teleport:

It suggests you can take the Monorail to MK, then bus from MK to AKL. Or you can take a bus to Blizzard Beach, then a bus to AKL. Either option will run you about 45 minutes or so. The first option takes a little longer, but it's fun to ride the Monrail :) If you rented a car and drove, it would take about 20 minutes anyway.

My basic understanding of the transportation system is that you can't go directly from one resort to another -- you have to stop at a park or DTD in between.

We LOVED dinner at Boma :lovestruc If you don't have any after dinner plans that night, plan on taking a little time to check out AKL, it's really a beautiful resort. This year, we have breakfast scheduled at Boma at 8am, so I think we may splurge on a cab so we don't have to get up at 6am to catch a bus!

We loved Boma's. Getting from one resort to another can be tricky. Usually I recommend going to a park or DTD and then transferring over to the AKL bus. However, as a PP mentioned, since you are staying at CR, it would be just as easy to walk or monorail to MK and take the bus from there. I believe suggestions are to leave yourself 45 min to an hour. I will say that it was a long ride to AKL.

Boma opens for dinner at 5:00. So if your reservation is for that time or somewhere close to that time, everyone will be checking in at the same time. I'd go for sometime after 5:30.

Help me! We'll be at WL and have adr's at Boma for breakfast one day and Cape May another -- can we just drive our car from WL to AKL and stay parked there for day at AK (same with Epcot/Boardwalk)? Do you have to pay to park at another resort? Can you do valet for day?

THANK YOU for any help!
