I just changed my first night reservation from Chef Mickey's to Boma? Now I'm second guessing if I did the wrong thing?!? This is our first trip and we do have CM's scheduled for breakfast on our departure day (is that wrong also?, am I going to get my kids too wound up on go home day?) I though CM's would be a good beginning act, as we aren't going to the parks that day, but the more I've heard about Boma the more I want to eat there. We have the Supercalifragalicious breakfast scheduled for the next morning. Did I make the right choice? Also, if we were to drive from our hotel (the Polynesian) to AKL to eat would we have to pay for parking, if so how much is it? Thanks!

Unless you valet you won't have to pay for parking. My choice for breakfast would be to go for Chef Mickey's if there were small children in the party, to Boma if everyone is older.

Have fun!

I'm staying at AKL so I was deciding the very same thing as far as BOMA over Chef Mickey's. We currently have reservations at Chef Mickey's for our arrival since we aren't doing a park that day but I'm 2nd guessing myself, wondering if we will enjoy the atmosphere or not. I too thought it would be a great way to start out WDW vacation off with the interaction with Mickey and friends. I've seen some videos of Chef Mickey's and get worried that it might be a tad much and ALOT of young kids kind of running around, etc. My kids are 9 and 11 so I totally understand young kids (been there done that) but not real into kids running all over the place out of control either;) Just looks/sounds like a very noisy, rambunctious environment. After a long drive, we might want a more quieter location to unwind/relax and get ready for our first BIG day at the MK. We have a reservation for CRT the morning of our
1st day at the MK and are looking forward to that :) I'm leaning towards cancelling the Chef Mickey's and either doing BOMA or a more low key place to eat. Goodluck to you in whatever you decide:thumbsup2

Can you tell me where you found the video's of Chef Mickey's? You sound just like me. We scheduled a lot of character meals and I'm thinking low key might be better for dinner after 8 hours in a car. And they will get the CM experience on the last morning.

www.youtube.com and just type in dinner or breakfast at Chef Mickey's. They are just personal videos from people that have vacationed and eaten around Disney, etc. When I watched the videos, some were ok and then others had me thinking:scared1: not sure that is the atmosphere I'm looking for, LOL;) but the character interaction does look pretty good. I don't know what we'll end up doing. I know my kids would care less about the commotion because they are kids but it would drive me NUTS, LOL:eek: but maybe I'll do it for them:love: Sometimes though, even they don't like too much action so I'm not 100% sure they would be thrilled with it either. Decisions, Decisions, LOL:confused3

CM is a favorite of ours, but you are correct it does get noisy and then the kids jump up and do the napkin twirl and it's caotic :dance3: . I know a couple of our vid's are on Youtube! But I think that's what I enjoy about it actually. Being in the CR and so close to MK on your first day, and the monorail going overhead - it's all the Disney magic - which is what it is - crowded a lot of times, noisy a lot of time (with happy people of course):lmao:

That being said, we love Boma also.

You seem to have thought this thru a lot, and if you're looking for more quietness on your first day, go with Boma.
