I'm sorry - I can't speak about yak and Yeti because I haven't tried it, but I just had to comment on Boma! It was fantastic! IF you like to try different and unusual foods - if you don't, then I wouldn't bother. I found the food at boma to be so unique and tasty. The service was great. When I asked our waitress what was in the watermelon rind salad - she gave me a card to fill out and they E-mailed me the recipie! I thought that was really cool! Anyway the food there is great and the Zebra Domes for dessert rock! Also, it gives you a great reason to go chect out the AKL. It is beautiful there - we met many CM's who were on an exchange from Africa and they were all very interesting... we talked to one girl for about half an hour! The best part.... at night, you can go look at the animals on the savanah through night vision goggles! That was one of the coolest things we did on our whole trip! Whatever you choose - enjoy and have a great trip!

Another vote for Boma. We try to go every trip.

We stayed at AKL, so ate at Boma about a dozen times in our last visit. But I did put Yak and Yeti. Of that dozen (or more) times, we had dinner only once, it was OK, but we were not in any rush to go back. Breakfast was just fantastic at Boma, we ate there so many times, the food is delicious, but for dinner, our two meals at Yak and Yeti (TS) last trip were just sensational (service was not great, but the food was just divine)

Eaten at both several times, but if we could only do one, it'd definitely be Bomas. I'd go just for the soups and deserts:cloud9: (not that the rest of the food isn't great too.:rotfl:).

Another option you might want to consider is the new restaurant at Kidani Village (Sanaa). I just ate there with some fellow Disers about two weeks ago and it was absolutely wonderful. It was one of the best meals of the trip.

I LOVE Boma! I can't speak for Yak and Yeti, haven't eaten there, but for me, a trip is not complete with a dinner at Boma.

We're doing Boma twice on our next trip - one dinner and one breakfast. Haven't done Yak & Yeti yet but after seeing the menu I would always make Boma my first choice!

We just ate dinner at Boma on our vacation. We all loved it. Ever my kids found things that they loved. The atmosphere, variety and experience is well worth it.

This is a toughy for me, because both places are among my favorites, and were our best meals on our last trip. Boma is an adventure and it's so much fun to try everything! Yak and Yeti ribs were about the best ribs I have ever had, and the cream cheese wonton dessert -- OMG!

I don't think you can go wrong with either, but I voted Yak and Yeti just because I could go for those ribs right now! ;)

I've eaten at Boma at least a dozen times and Yak twice. No contest. Boma wins.

I love the variety at Boma. There are a lot of items on the menu there that you can't find anywhere else. It's a great opportunity to try things you've never had before. The soups are amazing. I also love the tiny little desserts so you feel like you can try one of everything.

I also love just walking through the AKL lobby. It's such a beautiful resort.

Yak is mediocre Chinese/Asian food. The portions are huge but the dishes were underwhelming both times I ate here. I am not a picky eater. My first visit I had the lo mein which had no flavor. Since I was unhappy with my dish, my husband offered one of his ribs and it was terrible, so much sauce it was like just eating the sauce out of a bowl. The second time, we decided to just have appetizers (we always try a place twice before writing it off the list). The fried green beans were okay (but not nearly as good as PF Changs or TGI Fridays) and the pho was absolutely terrible. We are still talking about that terrible pho.

I don't think you can go wrong with Boma. It is my absolute FAVORITE and I think hands down is even better than Jiko for the $$$ that Jiko charges. It is such a nice buffet and everything on it is SO-O good. I LOVE the soups and always try at least two whenever we go. With a buffet you know you'll find SOMETHING you'll like and you can always go back for more!:thumbsup2

We have not tried the TS Yak & Yeti yet 'cuz I keep reading questionable reviews about it. We DID try the little CS place once tho and hated it. SUCH a waste of money for the portion size and the food was sooooo bland....it was a definite yuk on our list.:crazy2:

I haven't tried Yak and Yeti, but the menu looks a lot like my local PF Chang's. So I'd rather go to Boma, because a lot of the stuff on their dinner buffet aren't things I can find so easily where I live. I love to try new things. :)

boma:thumbsup2there's something for everyone and you get to try some different foods.not the typical buffet fod,but also has some of the usual stuff too for the picky eaters.boma is my favorite of all the restaurants.i wish i had one here at home.

I chose Yak and Yeti because we love the food. Although I really love the zebra domes at Boma, we do not really like Buffets.

So I usually get my zebra dome fix at Mara! :thumbsup2
