Boma or WCC?

So we had Tusker when we were there in Jan. My hubby loved Tusker and said he was up for trying Boma, but seeing as how we haven't had WCC before and we had Tusker last time I was thinking WCC might be a better choice.

Please help me make up my mind....

Both are good. I like the food at Boma's better, especially the soups but I like the atmosphere at WC better. If it come right down to it. Probally Boma,s since I think the quality of the food at WC has slipped a little since it first opened

Never eaten at WCC. Have eaten at Boma's three times and each time I think the food has gone down a little in my opinion. Both are at resorts so if you are looking for a cool resort to wander I'd reccomend AK Lodge. You can go out back and see the animals. If it's night, they have night vision binoculars you can borrow.

But they have very different food so it may depend on what you are in the mood to try. And Boma's is gonna be much pricier than WCC.

I haven't been to Boma (probably going to try it this year) but we did go to WCC last year and we weren't really impressed. The food was OK but we had much better meals elsewhere. Our server was OK but not overly friendly. I know most people go there for the interaction but we didn't really get much of that. We were seated in the back in a separate section with very few tables. It felt very isolated there and we felt like we missed most of the fun. We did ask for straws and Ketchup but it seemed like the people sitting in the main section got to do a lot more. If you decided on this one and want to be where the "action" is, I would suggest requesting a table in the main dining area.

Food at WCC is mediocre. We have been there three times, and we were never "in love" with it, though the last time, the food was not worth the effort.

Our service has been uneven too. Once, we had a great server who was lots of fun and played the games they're known for there. The other times we had apathetic servers, the last one being super slow with everything.

Boma has very good food, and it's unique, so it's stuff you can't easily get elsewhere. I'd certainly do Boma. No question.

If you can do both, do both :) We ate at the WCC twice and Boma once (and wished we could have eaten there again if we could've had ressies). If you like BBQ foods, the WCC had really good, fresh food. The servers were great and the ambience of the lodge itself is great. Boma was amazing also. We loved the variety, the AKL itself, and just exploring around the lodge and taking in all it had to offer. We'll be there in two weeks and I have ADRs for both :) You won't go wrong with either place!

Both are good -

BUT - BOMA win's hands down. Boma is my absolute favorite :)

I was wondering...are you going just for the food, or also for exploring the hotel? If you're going for the whole resort experience, I would probably pick Boma. We traveled from the WL to AKL so we could check it out and spent a good three hours there looking at the animals, talking to the CMs, sitting by the pool, shopping in the gift shop etc...plus the food was amazing. I would say, if you're looking for the whole package, pick Boma. But if you're really craving good BBQ and good fun, and a beautiful, relaxing place to sit in the lobby and soak in the grandeur, pick the WL. (I"m not helping am I?) I loved the AKL so much we almost booked that for our next trip but the Poly was available for the 4/3 deal so I jumped at that! But that said, I will definitely be heading back to the WL someday when I experience all the other resorts I'm dying to stay at!

We like WCC, but it has as much to do with the atmosphere as anything. As for food, Boma is most likely better with more choices.

We are trying Boma for the first time this year for breakfast. Without even trying it, I say go with Boma. We had a terrible experience at WCC in September--both service and food--and won't go back.

We enjoyed a breakfast at WCC but Boma would be my 1st choice. We love it there!:thumbsup2
