Boma or Narcoossee's

I am trying to decide between the two for a Saturday night in December. I know they are completely different experiences, but I can only choose 1. Which would you pick and why? Also, I have a DD with a peanut allergy, so I am a little worried about bringing her to Boma. Thank you.

Narcoosee's for certain. Much better restaurant than Boma and you can see the fireworks from the deck outside.

Until I read your entire post and learned of your daughter's peanut allergy I would have said Boma. Boma is noisy and can get hectic but I have loved all but one dish I tried there. I know that the Disney chefs will custom prepare foods for persons with allergies when they are given advance notice but at an African themed buffet I would imagine that would be quite a daunting task. The reason I love Boma is because of the variety of choices it affords me. My guess is that your daughter would have very limited choices.

We've also been to Narcoosee's and had a very pleasant dinner there but I left it off of my list of ADRs for our next trip because we are trying 3 restaurants we've never been to before. Yes, you will have a wonderful view of the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom if you plan to finish your meal in time to go out on the boat dock by Narcoosee's.

Narcoosee's had much better food and nicer restaurant and good location.
Boma we did not like the dinner buffet (we tried it 2x and both meals was so so). If you want to try Boma I would recommend breakfast buffet (its really yummy).

While I love both, Narcoosee's would certainly be my first choice!

Narcoosee's gets my vote! Excellent food and very appeasing (??) CM's. We ate there during our honeymoon (it was were we ate the night we got engaged) and I think I planned our reservation about an hour before Wishes. During wishes they dim the lights inside (and out) and pipe the music in to the restraunt. We had an excellent view of the fireworks from our table. (I think they discourge non-patrons from standing on the deck?). But then again, this review is a little biased!

Boma!! My little brother has a peanut allergy so we asked one of the chefs, and he was very kind and showed us what he can and can't eat. There are plenty of choices for people with peanut allergies.

Liked Boma, but would have to go with Narcoossee's. I think it would be easier to work around an allergy there. Plus it's just a nicer experience, IMHO.

Narcoossee's. The food, location and service are all excellent, and you have the added bonus of being able to catch Wishes from outside the restaurant.

I liked Boma as well, but found it to be just "OK". I don't remember a single thing I had there. Narcoossee's, on the other hand, was outstanding.

We were totally underwhelmed with the Narcoossee experience. It seemed pretentious and a bit full of itself, the food was nothing to write home about (apart from the desserts which were spectacular), the service was so-so and the air conditioning was turned so high that I thought icicles might form on my nose.

Boma was a real delight. Food was fantastic, service excellent, the waiter talked us through the main vegetarian and dairy-free options, the chef double checked the ingredients of all the desserts for us and it was warmer, both in atmosphere and temperature.

I can't comment on Narcoossee's (yet), but my experience with Boma was just OK. The soups were outstanding, but the entre selections seemed boring.

My wife and I rank buffets by what we are eating when we get full. If we're still eating entre's when we get full, the restaurant is very good. If we're eating soups and salads, it's OK. If we're still hungry when we're eating dessert, there's something lacking in the rest of the meal. We both had a lot of dessert at Boma.

It's a signature dining experience and has some of the best food on the property, it's suppose to be pretentious. Fine dining establishments are not suppose to be cozy like your local Applebees.

Lol, I don't know what Applebees is (we don't have that in the UK). I could have accepted the pretensiousness of it all (although I still believe that this is unneccessary in a truly good restaurant) if the food had been amazing, but as I said, it was ok but not outstanding.

I accept that signature dining is supposed to be smarter than the usual restaurants, but believe me, I've eaten in some pretty fantastic and critically aclaimed restaurants in the UK, and Narcoossee's was a disappointment.

LOL didn't realize you were from the UK. Applebees is a chain restaurant that serves average food for average prices.
