We will be at AKL 2 nights. The first night we won't get there until late so we will grab a quick bite. The next morning I have PS at boma and then that evening at jiko. From all the good reviews about boma's great dinner should we eat at boma for both meals and skip Jiko? We will be checking out early the next morning. Is Jiko a good place for young kids(1,2,6,7,9)? What are your opinions? I should add the kids will eat just about anything.

Thanks for the advice

I say Bomas all the way. One Jiko was more well dressy and young ones may feel more at home where they can get upm an pick what they like, Plus you could eat at Bomas 20 times an not get tird or be able to try everything. And for Bomas being a buffet the waiters are great each time they have talked to DD about there homes an traditional foods an have even explained different foods to her. Hopefully they will have the Chicken Mogationy soup its out of this world. As you can tell we are a Bomas fan. Have fun and wait till you see there desert bar section!!

Well--it sounds like you are leaning towards the buffet anyway. But if you do Jiko (which is where we always dine) don't worry about any dress matters--we always eat there in "theme park casual" and it isn't any sort of a problem. Always plenty of kids there too.
But you should check out the menus. More likely there'll be something for everyone at Boma

They are both good just 2 different atmospheres. Bomas is a very casual buffet. Jiko is also casual but more reserved an atmosphere. If you have a ton of buffets planned Jiko may be a nice break. Boma has plenty for everyone. My 4 and 7yo LOVED the buffet , it where the ate the most at WDW . Check out the menu at wdwig.com to help decide....There were plenty of kids at Jko when we were there.

Hi! I would definitely say go with Boma! We have eaten at both (Boma for breakfast and dinner, Jiko for dinner), and Boma absolutely blew Jiko away, as far as the quality of the food. We thought it would be otherwise, since Jiko seemed like a more elegant restaurant, but I had the worst meal of our entire trip at Jiko (I told the waiter that if the sauce was spicy, I wanted it on the side, but he insisted it wasn't spicy at all, until he actually served the meal and then told me he'd "made a mistake" - oops, now I had spicy sauce all over my meal!, my bass filet had bones in every bite). My husband Andy thought that his Jiko meal was fairly good, but not memorable except for the milk tart for dessert.
The food at Boma was very good - a nice blend of the exotic and familiar. The atmosphere was noisier, but this may be good for children - I notice that many of them tend to like noise & activity.
Cheers!

Another vote for BOMAs for dinner!! We love the variety of the foods at Boma - especially the desserts!

The first time we tried BOMAs, I wasn't sure if my 5 yr old would like it, and she had been wanting to try one of the kids clubs. We let her go to Simba's Clubhouse at the AKL for one hour, while we had dinner. She absolutely had the best time playing with the other kids (there were only about 5 other kids there at the time), and she was thrilled that she got to pick what she wanted for dinner (hotdog, FF, chocolate milk)! After dinner, we explored the hotel and it is a wonderful hotel!!!

We've eaten here twice since, with Allison, and she enjoys the buffet too! She still asks about going to Simba's - she said it was so much fun!

BOMAs is very kid-friendly!! Enjoy!!

I would try them both they are both very different. We ate at Jiko on our last visit and loved it. The food is different but very good.
