Does Boma have "Normal Food" selections for dinner as well as some exotic?
I thought I'd read before that they have Prime Rib for instance? I just had read that the food was spicy and that won't sit well with me. I would really like to try this but if it's only spicy food - I'd have to pass. :confused3

I haven't been to Boma (yet!), but here's a link to the menu from AllEars - http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_bomadin.htm

There's heaps of different meats, salads, soups, vegies, etc - I'm sure you'll find something yummy!

And be a devil - who wants to eat "normal" food at Disney!? You could always wash down a bit of spicy food with some zebra domes! :cheer2:

Normal is different for everyone, however, I think I know what you mean. They have a majority of foods that you would not find in McDonalds or on the menu at Steak-n-Shake... however, not everything is a spicy creation. They have a lot of foods that maybe don't look or sound "normal" but taste "normal" (I think I even confused myself with that statement.) They also have a "kids" type section (at least they used to, it's been awhile sice I've been there) with "standard" food.

The best advice would be read the sample menus and if all else fails give it a shot.

Hi ... Boma does have food that is not spicy. A lot of their foods are toned down I think. What so you mean by spicy? Some of their foods have a variety of spices and tastes but that does not mean like chilli pepper hot - foods are sweet, savoury and some just plain as well. The soups are really good. Yes, they do have prime rib - I am not sure if this is daily tho - but they always cater for people who do not eat spicy food - I am sure there is a lot you could try. Enjoy :goodvibes :goodvibes

The prime rib is really good. :) And I didn't find any of it Hot spicy, but some of it just differnt spicy. Like the chicken curry soup was spiced but not "spicy" if you know what I mean....

They're pretty accomodating there too. It's our favourite. :)

Have fun!

While I've not eaten there yet, I read several reviews that said a lot of the food has a cinnamon or coffee type flavor to it. I think this is the spice most are referring to, and some people are put off by the sweet taste of the food.

I wrote a review here:

The food is mostly not spicy hot. There are only a few dishes that had some heat to them, but they aren't extreme, just a little "warm"--the potatoes with Afritude come to mind. I like spicy hot food, but I'm a wuss about it. Nothing on the buffet made me reach for my water to douse the flames. The same went for my DH.

I also did not detect the same spice in all the dishes, and I asked DH if he did (I didn't eat any meat). I had read several reviews where people thought that was the case, but neither of us thought that way at all.

There was a station with food that would be familiar to Americans, like pasta, as well as fruit, salad, and desserts that should please everyone. There was prime rib both nights we went.

My little sister is picky when it comes to meat and she really liked the prime rib at Boma. Overall, we all liked the food. If you're not sure, just take a small sample. If you don't like it, no biggie, and if you do than just go back for more. That's what we did. We didn't like everything there, but we all found a lot that we really enjoyed. The mango dessert was my favorite.
