What has your experience been with these? We have never been but usually hear good things about them. We also have a little one with a peanut allergy, all of the Disney Restaurants we have been to in the past 3 years have been really accommodating to her allergy, was wondering how these would be, especially since Yak & Yeti is not Disney owned.
And what is the latest time that Yak and Yeti will seat you since AK closes so early? When we are there they will close @ 6.
We need 2 more dinner ressies IDK if I should pick 2 from these 3 or pick 1 from these 3 and then pick something else?

I can only speak about Boma, as I have not been to the other 2.

Boma is a buffet, so many thing are in all the dishes. With an allergy it would be best to note that and remind them at adr that the chef needs to come and say what to eat and what to stay away from.

That said. We did NOT like Boma. Now the food was good, but we didn't like the spices or the flavors. I had heard of "the spices" and though ok, we love spice. But we like "hot, pepperish" spices.
The spices that Boma uses are sweet in nature, like cinnamon, vanilla and fruits. It is in EVERYTHING! Including the meats (the strip was rubbed with it, the cinnamon over powered the meat), the soups, all the sides had sweetness to them.
It was like eating a Christmas dessert for dinner. Not what we wanted.

So I don't say the food was bad, just really research the dishes and spices, see if it is something your family would enjoy.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation!! :)

Jiko is upscale dining, Boma is a buffet, Yak is casual dining. I really like both Boma and Jiko, not a fan of Yak.

We always go to Boma; we go to Jiko when we are adults only because we like the quiet slow pace of the meal there and the outstanding wine selection.

Yak is like a lower version of PF Changs IMO.

I'd be concerned about Boma with the peanut allergy. My son has an allergy to cashews and pistachios, but just those two nuts. I'd noted the allergy on our reservation, and mentioned it to our server when we ate at Boma our 1st night last year. I think they may have mentioned one specific dish to avoid, but I actually found those nuts mixed into a dish that I know they didn't mention. It wasn't immediately obvious, but after I took a few bites of it, and scraped off the sauce, I knew they were in there. Thankfully my son didn't have any, and his allergy isn't super severe, but I know peanut allergies can be much worse.

The only restaurant we have been to out of those 3 are Boma...and I would not recommend it! My whole family disliked it. As a poster said above, they are using African spices...think lots of cinnamon, nutmeg and even coffee. I would skip this one.

Boma is a very good buffet. You will be able to try alot of diffent things.

Yak and Yeti is also very good.

We have been to Boma 2 times and we have been to Yak and Yet 2 times.

Our new favorite restaurant is Sanaa at AKL-Kidani, we went there last year and it was our best meal and we are going back next month.

We have other allergies in our family and had good experiences with Yak-n-Yeti and Boma and Jiko. Jiko actually had a separate menu for Gluten Free dinning. The chef at Jiko in very knowlegable about allergies. Also the service at Jiko was excellent.:thumbsup2

Jiko was very nice in 2009 and we enjoyed visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge after a day at AK Park. More upscale, nice wine... Yak and Yeti is now our favorite restaurant at Disney World - Been there twice now and have loved everything we ordered. It's a must do for us. (Read more in my review - link below).

DS has egg and peanut allergies -- the egg is severe. Jiko and Yak and Yeti were very accommodating. I actually received a phone call from the Chef at Yak and Yeti before we arrived to WDW to talk with us and we were assured no problems. The Chef did say it was easier to accommodate at table service than counter service.

We have tried Yak and Yeti from your list and were not at all impressed. This is far from Asian style cooking. I had the tempura shrimps with the steak and it was ok, but nothing special. My fiancé had the ribs with chicken fried rice and it was just horrid. We are definitely not going back.

I can't speak for Boma, we have never eaten there and we actually cancelled our reservation for next month because we are not "sweet" eaters for salty foods. If its meant to be salty thats how it should taste. At least thats our taste in food. Some people rave about it, others not so much. It really depends on your taste. After we researched the menu and got some opinions from people who have eaten there, in our particular case, it's best we don't dine try it.

We have Jiko booked for next month, so hopefully that will be a good experience! :)

Boma - great for breakfast..been there many times and love it. Dinner didnt do it for us as the foods are very heavily spiced with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg etc and we do not like our foods sweet (unless it is dessert ;))

Jiko - loved it the first time we went...the second time we dined there we were not impressed at all.

Yak & Yeti - LOVED our entrees, ribs and the steak and shrimp. Didnt like the appies or desserts at all

I love Boma. We have done it for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. It is buffet style. There is lots of different things to try. We have eaten there 4 times.
Yak and yeti is also very good. It was like a standard asian restaurant. The decor is nice. We have eaten there on our last 2 trips and have had good service both times.
We have never tried Jiko, but have always wanted to.

We have been to Boma on our last trip. Loved the food! My 4 year old has a severe peanut and nut intolerance. The chef came out and explained each dish to me. Told me which ones to stay away from. He also offered to make him his own plate. It depends on the sensitivity of your son's allergy. I would not go to any of these if he cannot even smell nuts (extreme allergy) but if he is like mine where he is fine as long as none is ingested then by all means try out Boma or Jiko. They are both wonderful.

We've done all 3 and loved Jiko and Boma, but the Yucky Yeti is not to our tastes. I'm sure all 3 will be more than accomodating with allergies.

Yak & Yeti - LOVED our entrees, ribs and the steak and shrimp. Didnt like the appies or desserts at all

My friends and I had the opposite opinion. We all loved our appetizers and desserts but didn't care for our entrees! We also were there for lunch so not sure if that makes a difference though.

I can't help with the peanut allergy recommendations though
