I just can't decide! We will be staying at AKL, so transportation won't be an issue, but dinner and breakfast both sound good. Also, I tried to get my group to go to Boma on our last trip and I lost. So this trip I am determined to go, even if I leave them all behind! Will I need an ADR for just one person? It would be nice to be able to be flexible as to what time I go. Thanks!

We love both dinner and breakfast, but if you forced me to choose just one, I'd do breakfast. This may also be easier for you to convince your group to go to since it has more traditional breakfast choices.

Someone I'm sure will mention the Zebra Domes for dinner, but you can also get them at MARA in the quick service section.

I love Boma for breakfast and dinner too. In October DH and I ate Boma for dinner and the next morning we had it for breakfast! :teeth: If your group is adventurous, I'd say go for dinner, the entrees aren't too out there, but Boma does use some different spices that you might not be familiar with. Breakfast has more "normal" food like waffles, sausage, eggs, etc, there are some ethnic choices for breakfast, but nearly as much as what is on the dinner menu. Either way, you can't go wrong and both meals definitely has pros and must do's (I'm thinking desserts for dinner and frunch for breakfast). And if all else fails, you can always eat at Boma's twice!

I much prefer breakfast. Dinner is a bit too exotic for my wimpy tastes.

When we were down last time, we did both - OFTEN. Even my 18 month old found something to eat. I will say that for dinner, some days were better than others - I can't remember which of the roasts I liked the most - but all I can say is "Yum"

Unfortunately, my kids have become MUCH pickier eaters, but I'm sure they will still find something (my son will live on Mac and Cheese if I let him). My wife and I will eat the odder stuff - then again, we never found anything that was THAT strange. Guess it comes from grown up in an area that had LOTs of ethnic resturants, and getting strange food all the time

Does anyone ever eat alone at Disney restaurants? I really don't think I will be able to talk even one other person in my group into going, not even for breakfast. They think it is way too expensive for a buffet. I do too, but hey, this is Disney World, what do they expect? Anyway, I just think I will feel funny if I go by myself. When I go up to the buffet, the server will probably think I left! I really want to go and I feel like I am missing something if I don't go, but at the same time I am hesitant to go alone!

We did both last week and we weren't even staying there. The place was a highlight for my 18yo DD. Are you more of a breakfast eater, with mostly standard, albeit wonderful, breakfast food? Or do you like more adventerous food that you can't get in many places? I'd suggest doing both, though.

Breakfast was not too crowded, but dinner was.

Have never had breakfast at Boma's, but we always, always go for dinner! It's a favorite of my entire family's.

And to Stitch1404, I hope you treat yourself, even if you can't convince anyone else in your party to go. I've never been alone, but I'd definitely go alone. Just leave a sweater or jacket hanging on your seat when you go up to the buffet area. And you will go more than once. There is so much to sample! Your server will know that you are a party of one, and I don't expect they will think you have left, especially if they haven't delivered your check to the table yet.

That's a hard choice to make....I like both breakfast and dinner. You won't go wrong on either meal. Enjoy!

Stich1404, if you want to dine at Boma's then go for it. I wouldn't miss out....solo dining can be fun too!

Stitch1404, what time of year will you be there?

I think for breakfast you will be fine without an ADR

Dinner could be trickier - does Disney "delay" seating of single diners in the hope of getting a 2 person walk up? I ask since I have dined solo on a number of occassions and sometimes when a place is busy they try to pretend to ignore solo diners in the hope that they go away due to the smaller check size

If that is a concern and you want dinner book a 2 person ADR and then show up and say your guest was not able to attend (not honest but may be the way to get a seating time/prompt seating)

cheers

If I absolutely had to pick one or the other..I'd pick dinner. It's really yummy!!! To me..breakfast is breakfast..you can only make it different so many ways. IMHO..at dinner you get a much differnt experience. I don't even like the Zebra Domes, either. I liked some of the food and some I did not like, but I liked most of it and so did my 2 young kids. Your group shouldn't knock it until they try it. I bet they will be surprised how good it is..plus it's not just a meal..it's an experience!!

Okay, convince me I will enjoy it solo. I am so uneasy about going by myself, but I am also mad at my group members for refusing to even give it a try. Whatever meal I choose to eat there, the others will be eating at the Mara...I'll just have to tell them how good it was as they eat their counter service!

They are intentionally picking The Mara over Boma's - ok that is so sad....

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

We had dinner at Boma's in Oct- It was fantastic! There was so much variety that there was something for everyone in our group of 6!! I hope you like it.

Ask for a seat by the window or take your favorite magazine..take your time looking at the dishes. Try a little bit of things you think you'd like and try thrm. WHat you like..go back for more and what you don't like..don't ge those again. Enjoy the atmosphere..enjoy the food. As with any place there will be some things you don't like. The boboti is really good, the prime rib is really good (I never had it before Boma), the peanut rice...yum, pineapple cheesecake..yum. I don't know why your group insists on not going...but they are REALLY missing out! Enjoy some quiet time alone for an hour or so.
