I've been checking out the menus on Deb's site and just made my PS for Boma's breakfast this Sunday. A couple of posts mention breakfast, but mainly focus on dinner. What can you tell me about breakfast there? Is it as good as the menu looks?

I've done breakfast at Boma's twice. The first time I didn't like it. I came home to read all of these rave reviews on these boards and decided that I must have caught them on a bad day. Anyway, I tried them again in June. It was better, but not worth the cost, IMO. It wasn't bad, just not good.

Erin :D

Although I favor the dinner here, the breakfast is similar to any of the other breakfast buffets in offerings. They have the freshest fruit I have seen anywhere, excellent pastries, made to order omelettes and a few items more typical of dinner at Boma's, flavors included! The Frunch juice is awesome!!

It's a good chance to sample the flavor of Boma without the expense and get a good substantial breakfast to boot! I'd go and enjoy!!

We had breakfast there Friday and weren't really impressed. I'd expected better fare after the rave reviews and with how great the food is at Jiko's is. The only three things we thought were memorable were the pork, juice, and banana bread. Even the create-your-own omlettes that I get at every character breakfast they're available weren't as good at Boma's as I remember it being at Crystal Palace.

I won't do Boma's again for breakfast.

That is disheartening to hear. :( I was trying to find somewhere to eat, buffet style, before I go to TL. Chef Mickey's is always such a long wait, as is 1900 park fare. Now I'm at a loss as to where to eat. Quess I'll head back over to Deb's site and check out more menus. Thanks for the information. I'd hate to get there and wish I would have went somewhere else.

I have never eaten there but all of the reviews I have seen (here and at other boards) are very positive. Many have said it is the best buffet on-site. Right now I only have one breakfast buffet planned and this will be it. I can not wait to try it!

You said that you thought the menu looked good, so why not give it a try? Everyone has different tastes and opinions, so I say go with an open mind and make your own decision. Besides, you will also get to visit an awesome resort at the same time, Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Let us know if you go and what you think. :D

My DH and I stayed at AKL last year and had breakfast at Bomas several times. The service was great :D The food was great :D and we highly recommend it for breakfast. Loved the juice (frunch), omlettes, french toast, meats, and everything else we ate. I believe that we skipped lunch the days we ate at Bomas because everything was so good, that we actually had a few bites more than we usually would have had at breakfast. Neither one of us had anything that we didn't like. In fact, Bomas has become our favorite breakfast spot at WDW. We are planning on at least one breakfast (and hopefully2) at Bomas this trip even though we are staying at the Swan. Heck, I would have breakfast there everyday if I could!! If you choose Bomas, I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. :D

I ate there Friday Also!! Normally I am a huge Fan of Boma's (ate there dinner on Thurs., and loved it) - but I was disappointed with breakfast on Friday - but honestly, I think my appetite may have been at fault- just wasn't very hungry!
Service was excellent (it was very slow), Loved the new biscuit "potpie" they are trying (it has a mild curry accent) - they also had a huge selection of baked goods (muffins, scones, breads, croissants, etc.) . They had carved Pork and lamb, as well as breakfast "pizzas" (2 styles - one with veggies, one with standard egg and ham), roasted potatoes (like home fries, but a little spicier). Bobotie (sort of a mildly spiced fritatta- it's good too). Make your own omelettes. Lots of fresh fruit choices. 3 types of hot cereal (oatmeal, quinoa, and one other), pancakes, waffles, french toast (on raisiin bread), sausage, bacon. Dry cereal (fruit loops, granolas, Raisin bran, etc. --you can get milk for t=it from your server). Beverages come with - and you must try the "Frunch" - it's wonderful.

I think that if you are hungry then you can get your money's worth - especially if you skip lunch that day (maybe do snackies). I would try it again- but next time I will be hungry! - Jill

I really want to have a big breakfast so I won't have to buy lunch at TL. Maybe just a snack. I plan on taking my own water to save a little, too. The recent reviews do not seem to be what they used to be, but I think I will stick with it. I'll have 2 hours to eat, return the car and get to TL. I hope that is enough time to make it to opening at TL if I arrive 15 minutes earlyfor breakfast. This trip has been so hard to plan and I don't know why. Thanks for all of the input!

I've eaten at Boma for breakfast several times (last time in May) and have enjoyed every meal.

The service was great and the variety of foods was fantastic. I love that they have all my "normal" breakfast foods and also have so many foods with an African flare.

It was great being able to try new things but have the comfort foods to fall back on.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my Dad (who is) says that they have the best coffee in WDW, too.

So, it sounds like they might have had a few off days or people just have different expectations. I'm feeling better about eating there now. Thanks!
