I have made a 7:30 am ADR for Boma. They asked that we arrive 45 minutes early. Can anyone explain why?

After checking in, if we aren't seated right away, could we peer at some animals?

We'll be driving, and I assume that we CANNOT leave our car at AKL for the day. Correct?

Thanks!

I have never heard them request that you arrive 45 minutes early :confused3 Normally they say to arrive 15 minutes before your ADR. They don't even open till 7:30, so I wouldn't worry about getting there too early.

If you do arrive a bit early, there are some viewing areas (inside AKL and outside) to see the animals out on the savannah.

You are correct that you can't park at the resort for the day while going to the park.

My family thinks I'm insane for telling them we have to be at breakfast 2 hours and 15 minutes before the park opens!

I like 15 minutes much better!

They probably said or meant to say give yourself 45 minutes to arrive. That's what I'm always told because they figure you are using their transportation, so they will usually say to give yourself plenty of travel time around 45 min.

I agree, they probably said to give yourself 45 mins travel time. If you are still unsure, call back and ask.

If you are driving, just plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your ADR. I believe 7:30 is the first seating, so you will have no problems getting seated right away.

I agree with everyone else that it must be 15 mins, 45 including transportation. But, either before or after breakfast, you should take a look at the animals. There are viewing areas for the public, one right out the back of the lobby, where you can all sorts of animals. It's a great bonus when going to Boma for a meal!

Do you generally need reservations for breakfast at Boma. We will be there the end of June and I didn't even think about breakfast reservations. :confused3

If it's somewhere you really want to eat, then call and make the ADR. We called last week for our June trip and it was pretty full, but we got the time that we really wanted.

Thanks so much for all the replies! I lost this thread.

Thinking about the bus system, the 45 minutes makes sense. Mystery solved!

Thanks again!
