Bolanette87's Trip Report- It's Time to Remember the Magic! Day Four.

Lovely report. What a good deal that meal was - I thought eating in Paris would be prohibitively expensive.

Even more fireworks! What are they doing? :confused3

Sounds fun, and at least you got a good meal in Paris which I have never yet managed!

Fun day in Paris, lovely photos:thumbsup2

I'm assuming practising for the summer season? Maybe?

You lucky things - having a room upgrade AND seeing fireworks from your window!

Great shots of the Eiffel Tower and will try to find those gardens, beautiful! I also liked seeing Napoleon's burial place, did you go inside? (can you?)

I have never heard of/seen a Crochenbouche. Is it made out of apples? Or what else? How is it held together? Very unusual.

Looks like you enjoyed your restaurant. Considering you 'didn't know where to go" it seems you had a great time anyway!

I think you can go inside the place where Napoleon is buried, but I'm not certain because we didn't go inside...

The croquembouche (Spelt it wrong in the first place- Oops!) is a large 'cake' made out of choux pastry buns. They are filled with various types/flavours of pastry cream, and then bound together with spun sugar and caramel. The whole thing is then often decorated with flowers... It's a traditional French wedding cake... :goodvibes

Yes you can go inside - I remember doing so years ago. The place is called Invalides and as well as there being Napoleons tomb there is also a large museum about the army. Im not sure how much it costs.

You can eat very cheaply in Paris if you want to. The area known as the Latin Quarter which is the student area has some lovely cheap restaurants - see my trip report where we had a 3 course meal for €12. We also ate very cheaply in Montmatre.

I think the statue thing you saw is something to do with peace.

We couldn't remember the way to the Latin quarter- We would have quite liked to see that!

Never mind, I suppose it'll be for another time in France!! More reasons to go back! :goodvibes

Oh no, not that family again  at least you lost them when you arrived in Paris.

Your photos are fabulous. :thumbsup2

Great day in Paris - agree with the price of the meal, cheaper than Auberge :)
