Bogus special prices for soda

I'm sure some people know about this but the way these things fly off the shelves around here I guess many don't.

Food store chain ran ad with big name soda 2 for $10.00 for the 24-12 oz. cans. Since most of the time it is $3.80/12 cans not too bad.

The big problem is I looked at the date imprinted on the packaging and some had 2003 and others 2004. Pretty old stuff.

Really don't think soda improves with age.

Wonder if this is just locallized in our area with our stores. I have seen this happened at other stores around town

Maybe they found some stock somewhere they didn't know they had.

Unless the cans are leaking they should be fine. My inlaws buy soda when it's on sale for company to drink when they visit. I've had cans that were at least three years old. You can tell because they change the can graphics every other year or so.

Soda has a sell by date....I would report what you found to management, selling perishable food that is years old is gross!

I'm not sure about regular soda, but I do know from personal experience that if you drink old diet soda from a can, the "fizz" seems to disappear and it's flat. I drank some diet soda a while back that was at least a year or two old by mistake & it was just plain *nasty*.
