my mum would love to go on one of those boat things( sory guys cant remember the name!) we have a free day during our stay and i would like to surprise her
can anyone offer any info/experiances please

many thanks

DH so hard to please and this was probably the part of the trip that he enjoyed most.

I think they have two locations and we went to the one on Boggy Creek Road, they have a location south of town too.

We went about 1:30 Pm and I was afraid we wouldn't see any gators because I had heard they are out more often during the morning but we saw two. We got very close to both of them and nearly too close to the 2nd one as she was guarding her nest and didn't appreciate it. It was kinda funny because DH was on that side of the boat and the look on his face was priceless!

They also do parasailing trips as well and night hunts that are a little more expensive. Also, I'm not sure what your plans are for the rest of the day but it is such a beautiful location I wished we had brought a picnic lunch, not for in the boats but on the docks. We had a coupon from the Ent. book and for the 4 of us it was around $44 but I tipped the guide another $5.. hope that was enough.

By the way it is called "Boggy Creek Airboat Rides" If you have any specific questions just ask away.

thanks ( airboat thats it i remember now!) is this suitable for children as i will have my ds age3 and dd age6 with me??
thanks for the info

I would say it depends on the child. We had DS 17 and DS 5 with us. DS 17 really enjoyed but DS 5 was in a "mood" that day anyway. The boat is kinda loud and they give you "headset" ear protection and DS 5 doesn't care for those so DS 17 ended up holding his hands over his brother's ears for most of the trip. :0 he's a good big brother!

Boggy Creek offers a wonderful airboat tour, very appropriate for children. You may also want to check out their night time gator safaris for an even more memorable trip (try here: http://www.bcairboats.com/nighttours.html ).

Enjoy!

I had never been on an air boat before. We did it on the last day of our trip. I was sun burned and sore but it was fun. Hubby and DS were thrilled with it. Although they were less thrilled with the green algae that was on hubby's white shorts and face and the algae that was on DS7's shirt. But it was a great time and would definitely do it again!!

The only down side is that the trip only lasted 30 minutes. It seemed like we no sooner got out to the Glades when it was over.
