Boggy creek

Has anyone been on the airboat rides at boggy creek if so was it worth it?
And we won't have a car so how much would it be for a taxi? We will be staying at POFQ.
Any advice appreciated as my DH has decided he would like to do this on our up coming trip

Done it twice and its well worth doing, saw loads of wildlife both times, gators, water snakes, bald eagle etc.
Your only problem is not having a car, its a fair way out, just got a quote from Mears fare estimator and its quoting $72 each way, with tips you are looking at around $160 return. Over £100.

Is it you can't drive or don't want to? if you can then a 24 hours car rental is ridiculously cheap, so cheap they would probably make a loss. It would cost £34.73 for a small car including a tank of gas and sat nav.

I really enjoyed it and felt it was worth the money. Agree with Wayne, really a car would be the best option.

from POFQ to their East Lake location (Big Bass road in kissimmee) it's $60 one way with a taxi. (yellow cab fare calculator) but that might easily be well over that (as Wayne suggested)

for that kind of money, you can rent a small car and take advantage of having a car to go to the mall or outlets, or even go shopping for groceries, and many other things.

I've just priced a Fullsize with Alamo at £32 for one day (+ gas), pickup and return from Disney Car Care (just outside of TTC, free shuttle)
that's only 1/3rd of what a taxi will cost you. a compact would even be cheaper (even with gas)

If you can't drive (or don't want to) it becomes too expensive for the experience (in my opinion)

also not that the airboats are very loud, even with the ear protection provided.
This may not suit younger children (don't know if it applies to your party)

The ride is quite enjoyable as long as you use sunscreen and insect repellent

we got a free airboat ride coupon in our booklet of vouchers so will also be looking in to this we do have a car booked but we dont get it until the day we check out of disney so may have to jiggle our plans

We can both drive but DH is not keen to drive on holiday. Also all the insurance etc concerns him as well.
We might reconsider as he mentioned going to Clearwater as well so we might just look into a couple of days car hire if its that cheap.

We have done it but was in 2002, loved it and even went back for evening boat ride too. The 'captain' turned all the lights off for couple mins at speed, very cool lol

Aw that sounds really good. We did dune bashing in Dubai and the driver did that as well though it was really scary to be gong up and down dunes in the dark

have there been any reports of these things sinking as I notice no one has life jackets on.

Although I suppose drowning will be the least of your worries in alligator infested waters.
