BOG twice in one day. Thoughts?

Hi,

We have a PPO 8:15 breakfast and a 4:30 dinner booked. Is it worth it to keep both? We have a two year old, so we planned to enjoy an early breakfast, enjoy a couple of attractions in the morning and head to the hotel for a break around noon. Then, we could have an early dinner and hang out at MK until close. I am still hoping for a CRC dinner to open up, but BOG seems ok, too (if it will be a different enough experience from the breakfast). I guess a plus is that we will have ample time to see and appreciate the beauty of the restaurant at dinnertime and that will let us focus on eating fast at breakfast to beat the RD crowd. On a side note, will the Beast show up for dinner that early? Thanks!

I don't think it's worth keeping both, for most definitions of worth. A PPO breakfast can be a good start on the day, although the breakfast is unremarkable save for how remarkably overpriced it is. At dinner, it's a glam cafeteria (some people will jump down my throat on this).

Beast is at dinner throughout.

I'll be the contrarian... this is something we would do! Breakfast and dinner service are completely day and night. The mood, vibe, and feel are all different. Breakfast is a chaotic, fast-paced rush. Glorified quick service. Dinner is a real table service with what I consider very good food for theme park standards.

I'd say if both menus appeal to you and it otherwise fits in your schedule, seems totally legit to me.

I don't know what time beast comes out but we had a 4:30ish ADR there a year or two ago and did see him.

Just my two cents! :-)

I've done a pre-park breakfast and dinner at BOG on the same day. Granted, mine was a much later dinner. If you don't have a more compelling option, I think it's fine.

We have gone to BOG twice in one day more than once and have not regretted doing so. The experiences and menu are different enough to keep us happy.

Our earliest dinner reservation has been 5:05PM, and Beast was already there with a line for photos. You see him after you eat, so you should be fine.

I'd keep it--we did BOG dinner one night and then the next morning did BOG breakfast (pre-park open). It was awesome. Completely different vibe and fun. But it was just my husband and me, no kids.

We did pretty much the same as you except with a 6pm dinner. We were on the dining plan so cost wasn't much f an issue. The only reason not to do it is if you don't like the dinner menu. We did. Would do it again.

we are debating the same thing, only because we will have a few MK days, and feel like it may be better to spread it out, however, the chances of a dinner adr for 12....means we are probably looking at our latest MK day, plus that was when we were going to do the Breakfast. LOL so basically, if you want to eat there for both, go for it. why not. :)

Thanks for all of the input. I think we will keep both - from what I've seen of the dinner reviews, the menu looks great. Hopefully we will have a filling breakfast, and then a light snack/lunch to tide us over until the early dinner.

I spent a lot of time planning the "flow" of my trip, that ended up ultimately with some restaurant choices at certain times that I would have agonized about had I realized what I was doing. I ended up with my first 4 meals being skipper canteen, sanaa, tusker house, yak and yeti and even though they are kind of similar it was just fine. I ended up with 'Ohana and Garden Grill for breakfast on back to back days and it was just fine. I even ended up with two character meals in one day and it was fine. All of that stuff had I realized I was doing it i would have done my best to try to change because on paper it sounded bad but in reality it wasn't. People eat breakfast and dinner in the same restaurants all the time on vacation when there are not so many choices and it's not weird. I say if it works for the flow of your day and your trip, why not? It's not like it's the same menu for both meals.

We do this all the time. The food is obviously very different at each meal but I think the atmosphere is totally different at breakfast/lunch and dinner. Although it is a huge restaurant it is always full unless you have one of the very first or last seatings, but dinner just seems more upscale to me because there aren't as many people milling about (yes there are people who walk around so they can look at each of the rooms - especially the West Wing). Plus you have an actual server at dinner not someone who just drops your food off and we have always had excellent interaction with our CM at dinner. Dinner has always taken us long enough that Beast has made two appearances (sometimes even 3 I think) while we are eating.

We are doing it in Sept. I have an 8:00am reservation for breakfast, and a 5:25pm reservation for dinner

We would do it. Although their breakfast is far too overpriced for us to do a breakfast and dinner we have done both lunch and dinner. Each meal here is very different and we absolutely love dinner. Have had wonderful service and food and of course the bonus is that you get to meet the Beast!

We'd do it, although with lunch and a late dinner. They are totally different and we prefer BoG if eating in the MK, so much so that we have a BoG lunch reserved for every MK day on our next trip, which is 3 weeks long. There is no better dining option inside MK, either QS to TS.

We have done it- BOG is our favorite restaurant. Each trip, I make sure we have all 3 meals there. I think even one trip we did a PPO breakfast and lunch in the same day!
Dinner is our favorite meal there. The atmosphere and meeting the Beast!
Much more relaxing at night where you can just sit, relax and enjoy your surroundings.

I don't understand why you'd do BOG twice in 1 day? The location is the location..............while dinner is slightly (maybe more) different. Other than The Beast..........nothing worth a second visit in 1 day. So many other choices in the MK or at the resorts. Now if thats what you like.........hey go for it. Wouldn't work for my family.
