I made a reservation for 5 adults and 1 child, but forgot to include my toddler (he's 2 so he doesn't have the dining plan). I already paid for disney scout to see if I can get 1 more reservation at the same time, but haven't had any luck so far. Obviously I'll keep trying, but is it very likely they'll turn us away?

I just had dinner there Sept. 1st at a prime time slot of 6pm. We had a reservation for 4 but there was 5 of us (3adults, 1child and 1infant). When we checked in (early) we said it was for the 5 of us but I forgot about the infant. They were very nice and accommodating. We simply had to wait a few more minutes for a bigger table. When we were seated we received a very large round table in the main ballroom - large enough for 8 people. Looking around there were a lot of empty tables around us. I think they purposely underbook the restaurant to keep the buzz going. You should be alright.

In our experience, ( we've done it many times due to my husbands cousin living in the area and popping in a couple times for dinner) we have never been turned away with one extra. He has one of those jobs that he has no idea 180 in advance when I make ADRs, when he will be able to get a day off, so we always just hope for the best. BOG was one of them last year and I was going in expecting them to say no because of the demand, but they said sure, and we sat down almost immediately. My theory is always try to change the reservation, but don't sweat it.

Thank you so much! The reservation is for lunch, which I know is a seat yourself dining, so I was hoping it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's good to get confirmation. I'll still try to change the reservation though.

On our last trip in May, I had a BOG lunch ressie for 5 (2ad, 2ch and 1inf). At last minute, mil joined us on our trip and made us a party of 6. We had no problems.

is it very likely they'll turn us away?

THE QUESTION OF AN EXTRA PERSON or EXTRA PEOPLE (the "411"):
1) Disney is getting wise to the "but, they decided to join us" or "I miscounted".
2) People can't always get the ADR they want.
3) So, they under-count to get a table.
4) Then, they show up with "unexpected" additional people.
5) In a team meeting, CM's have been told to warn guests against this.
6) If there is room, WDW will not turn away revenue.
7) But, if busy, they will turn away the additions.
8) Go ahead and arrive with the extras, if you like.
9) Just be prepared to have someone stand around while you eat.
10) I have heard explanations such as . . .
. . . "but, Aunt Suzy decided to join us and we need an extra seat"
. . . "but, two friends from off-site decided to join us and we need a extra seats"
. . . "but, brother-in-law decided to join us and we need an extra seat"
. . . "but, the entire Boy Scout Troop decided to join us and we need 14 extra sets"
. . . "but, my baby is so small that I didn't count her in the number of eaters"
.
NOTE1: It is far easier going from an odd-number to an even number, such as from 7-people to 8-people, adding a person to an even number of diners, such as going from 6-people to 7-people. Adding odd person can mean adding a table, and this might not be possible. Going from an odd-to-even might only mean adding a chair or using an empty seat. So, if going from even-to-odd, you might not get the extra person a seat. It is always better to get another ADR with the proper people-count.
.
NOTE2: Frequently a party-of-two will try to add a third person at the podium. This can be risky, because many eateries do have tables-for-two. If the guest was slated for one of these, there simply might not be a table available to seat the third person - even if an infant. The extra chair location might extend into an aisle and block access for other guests or Servers.
.
NOTE3: Sometimes it is a threesome adding a fourth. Unfortunately, there are many eateries that do have 3-top tables - usually against a wall or pillar. They can't add a fourth chair, since that would invade the aisle and be unsafe for SERVERS.

I can't speak for BOG, but I HAVE seen people turned away in situations of wanting to add 1-2 more people when they check in for their reservations. So it does happen.

I would say go hoping for the best, but be prepared for the worst. My son has joined us unexpectedly and we were lucky. Every restaurant wa able to add him on, but we knew we might have had to make an adjustment.

Because this is BOG, you've got a better chance of this working out. Since it's a counter service restaurant for breakfast and lunch, you don't have to worry about table size. At dinner, occupancy is restricted by the kitchen, so they should have plenty of empty tables available to squeeze in the one extra person. At any other restaurant, you'd be pushing your luck.

Got it, thanks! I'm not getting any hits from disney scout, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone cancels one spot during my time frame.

Update - another rave for Disney Scout! I was able to update my BOG reservation to include one more person in my reservation, so yay! Now I don't have to worry about getting turned away. Thanks everyone!

I screwed up and in my quickness of finding a 8:05 ADR booked for 1 instead if 4 (2 adults 1 child 1 infant). What is the best plan of action? Show up and explain mistake, call dining, or pay disney scout?

In this case, I think you have 3 options:
1) Keep the ADR for 1 and continue to search for an ADR for 3 or 4. If you find an ADR for 4, you can simply cancel the ADR for 1. If you find an ADR for 3 at the same or similar time, you can all sit together as it is a seat-yourself location.
2) Cancel the ADR for 1 and continue to search for an ADR for 4 or make alternate plans.
3) Pay for one of the services that searches for you if you don't want to stalk the site.

The option that you really don't have is showing up and explaining the mistake unless you want an awful morning with a HUGE chance of being told no and either sending one person in to eat while the other adult waits outside the gates with the kids for an hour (assuming it's a 9 am opening) or paying the $10 no-show fee. Because (again assuming this is a pre-opening time) you need to get through the early ADR gate before you can even ask the restaurant if they would let you quadruple the number of people on the reservation and I don't believe those who check at the gate will let anyone through without a reservation. Best-case scenario that I see if you did this would be that those working the gate ask you to step aside while they let in EVERYONE with correct ADRs then radio/whatever BOG and find out if they will take you which could take a LONG time.
