We have made reservations for BOG for 7 ppl but we are unable to sit all together. It seems ridiculous to me our reservation times are 5 mins apart? We will obviously all show up together. Do we have a chance in sitting together our is it hopeless? We are there for our twins birthday.... My daughter wants to eat in the castle. The reservation times are 850p party of 3 & 855p party of 4.

Well, the thing is, when you have two separate reservations for tables of 3 and 4 at a restaurant that is fully booked, it is not like they will have a table for 7 free for you to use. That is a different reservation all together, and the party of 7 is not going to be willing to take your two tables for 4 and 3. Disney is not like your local diner in that they can't just slap a couple tables together to accomodate bigger groups. The restaurants tend to be very packed with tables and they really won't regroup them for any reason unless their are tables specifically set up for this - which is unlikely.

Now, I would say if you want to be sitting NEAR eachother, they should be able to accomodate that. You may have to wait a longer period of time to be seated, but they should be able to put you at tables next to each other.

The only thing you can do is ask at the podium when you get there. If they can seat all of you at one table, then they will do so. If they can't, then they can't. You do have two separate reservations. As noted, they may also be able to seat you at tables beside each other.

Check to make sure, if they combine your parties, that one of the parties didn't go down as a no-show and get charged.

I was told that I had to make 2 separate reservations. But I'm not understanding within a 5 min period what changes? Either 7 @ one time or a 3 & 4 within 5 mins. Seems odd

There wasn't any availability for 7 at the time you made the reservations. So you had to make two separate ones.

I believe they do have tables that will accommodate 7. But the question is, at the time you made the reservations, was there a reservation for 7 available. Apparently not.

That's 7 at the same table or split over 2, which may be combined or could be in different rooms.

So in a normal restaurant they would push 2 tables together and seat another table elsewhere. There's no "room" assigned to my knowledge? Just trying to understand. It's not as if there were no tables available.

As a PP said, when you were looking for a reservation here wasn't a table for 7 available. Then you looked for 2 separate tables and found one for a party of 3 and one for a party of 4. They are 5 minutes apart, but what you have are 2 separate reservations for 2 separate tables.

1. Disney doesn't "push 2 tables together" and instead they try to seat parties next to or nearby, but it doesn't always happen.

2. Not sure what table you are asking about.

3. Tables aren't assigned in advance. It's not like you walk into the restaurant and there is a "reserved" sign on the table. You check in and are put on the list for the next table available for your group size, based on your reservations. In your case, that's 2 separate reservations and therefore 2 separate tables. If the CMs can combine your 2 reservations, they will, but there is no guarantee because you didn't reserve a table for 7.

4. Not sure what you mean because there weren't any tables for 7 available when you tried to make your reservation.

The best you can do when you check in is politely ask if you can be seated together, but depending on when you're going BOG is fully booked so it might not be possible.

The reservation system does not take into consideration the possibilty of "pushing tables together." When you reserve, either there are tables for 7 available, or there are not. If the restaurant will be able to push tables together, that will be determined when you check in at the restaurant, not when you make a reservation. They won't move other guests to accommodate you. I once had an issue at a Disney restaurant with a party that arrived later demanding my table to push into theirs rather than take two separate tables. The woman who was talking to the manager was saying "why can't you move her, she is by herself." The manager, to his credit, refused to move me in order to accommodate them.

You may be able to tell them when you check in that you will wait until you have tables that are next to each other or can be pushed together.

We are a party of 7 trying to get a reservation as well. There is nothing for 7, so I'm waiting to see if something opens up. I wouldn't book 2 separate ones and hope to be put together. Everyone would start doing this and expecting it if this was possible.

I'm ok with having to sit apart if it's a must so we booked 2 tables because its better then not going. It's our last night there and my daughter really wants to eat there for her birthday. My son picked elsewhere for his birthday dinner and it's just the 4 of us for that meal since it's character and the other people were not interested. I just assumed that since or reservations was within 5 mins of each other then we may be able to sit together but I'm glad I asked instead of getting our hopes up.

Try for 7 and if nothing comes up, try adding 1 and looking for a table for 8. The Disney res system has a quirk that makes it harder for odd numbered parties to find a table. The system wants to fill every seat so 7 gets overlooked, but 8 might find availability. Just let the CM at the podium know there are 7 when you check in. If the res requires a credit card hold (like BOG) as long as at least 1 person shows up for the res you won't be charged for the missing people. Also, always go up 1 person because you need to include everyone who is going to be at the table. It's always easier to show up with one less than to try and add people at the restaurant.

You might be able to. You need to ask when you check in, and realize they will see what they can do, but they might not be able to accommodate.
