BOG Reservation Question

I’ve done BOG for dinner but not the earlier counter service meals. I see that there are reservations available, but I’m wondering if you need reservations or if you can arrive and just wait?

Being able to walk up and wait depends on so many variables that I wouldn’t chance it if you really want to eat there. If you’re completely okay with being told there aren’t any openings day-of then you can always walk up and ask.

This is a very hard place to get into, definitely grab the reservation while it's still there. Whenever I've gone every person trying to walk up was turned away.

As others have advised, you need a reservation.

There's always going to be *that* person that will invariably come along on this thread, and state how they've walked up before and were seated right away. It happens, but it is extremely rare.

When BOG first opened, you had to stand in line to get in. That hasn't been the case for years. You need an ADR, even for quick service.

If you want to eat there, I would get an ADR. It is still very busy for breakfast and lunch. I suspect with dinner going to the Prix Fixe, lunch may have gotten even higher demand.
If you are going at an off time, you might be able to walk up, but I wouldn't chance it if you can get an ADR.

When we went there for dinner last year and checked in with our ADR, there must have been at least 10 to 12 different people walking up to the check-in without ADR's and they all got turned away.

Remember the umbrellas that they used to have to share?
and the "secret" invitation some people got to reserve BOG in advance for lunch? posted the link here on the DIS and people used it that did not get the invite for like close to a year?
October 2013 Trip: Free FD PIN for POFQ, tested FP+ /MBs so could use paper FP too, and the BOG reservation. Best Trip ever

Or those of us who did not get the invitation, but knew the email code thing to secure the special ADR, and then got scolded by some fan sites because we admitted we got the code and used it?
