When pre-ordering lunch, is there a way to separate dining plan items vs OOP items? Also is there a way to order for some members of the party with the dining plan and others to pay out of pocket? If so, do they pay when pre-ordering or when they arrive at restaurant?

The following disclaimer is displayed prominently on the pre-order page....

"Please note we are unable to split checks for orders placed online."

Pre-ordering is a way to improve efficiency and speed things up. Attempting to split checks when you get there gums up the works, and decreases speed and efficiency.

As @DisBuckMan stated, the answer is no. You must pay for everything by the same method when you preorder

I'm glad i saw this post! I just chatted Disney and I was told I would have no problem to split the pre-ordered check. I did not get to my pre-order window yet, so i didn't see that message.

I've only been once so someone that has been more times please correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe you can pre-order as many times as you want. So if you know your order now, but someone else decides tomorrow, you can adjust and resubmit. Whatever is verified at payment (which we somehow skipped and didn't have to pay!) is what will be sent to the kitchen to make.

So if 3 out of 4 ppl on the reservation want to pre-order food with DDP, but 1 just wants coffe and pay for the coffee oop, we could pre-order the meals and just order the coffee when we get there ?

I'm confused about this. We have the quick service plan so that is only for the entree, correct? if we want order soup or some other appetizer and a dessert, can we use QS for the meal and drink and OOP for the app and dessert? I don't want to use up our snack credits because we're saving them for Food and Wine!

As long as one person is okay with paying for all three meals preordered and the one just getting coffee is okay with standing in the line to order by themselves, yes you can.

The pre-order line and the non pre-order line can be very different in length and your food comes very quickly if you have pre-ordered. It is very possible that the pre-order people will be done eating before the coffee person gets to the table. I would just skip the coffee and sit with the others or grab Starbucks on the way to the castle. Not everyone has to order and sharing is ok.

Oh, I didn't think about that the lines could differ that much in time. Good point. Wonder if I could make coffee in the hotel room and pour it in my drinking mug to bring along?
