BOG pre-order

I have a BOG lunch ADR for a group of 9. Since my group is now only going to have 8, will I still be able to pre-order for only 8? (For some reason I'm thinking you have to select each person's meal under their name. It's been a couple years since I last went to BOG for lunch.)

FYI, I have tried multiple times to change my reservation to only 8 people, but there are no available reservations so I'm just planning to keep my ADR for 9 people.

I think it does make you choose a meal under a name but you don't have to order something for everyone. I know plenty of people who split or only order cupcakes.

Good question. I'm not sure if the system will let you complete the pre-order if everyone doesn't order. You don't have to pre-order if it doesn't allow you to do only 8.

It's batch ordering. No specific name ordering. You can order one cup of coffee for 8 people, or you can order 8 full meals for two people. They don't care.

You can order more or less than for the number of people in your reservation. But if you wanted to reduce the number of people on your ADR you can call and have it changed. We do this almost every trip.

i didn't even think to call. i was just doing it all online and it was saying there are no other reservations available around that time i had already booked. l imagine it should be simple enough for them to make the change in number over the phone. my friend who goes all the time said not to bother. she said just tell them one person couldn't make it and the CMs won't care.

They won't care if you show up with less than the number in your ADR, but since people are always desperately searching for ADRs here, and even try to get in as a table of just one, I like to try and always keep them for only the number I need so others get a chance for a table as well.

Especially with BOG - 1 can matter. That place books based on number of people for breakfast and lunch.

If you have a reservation for 4 at Ohana and three show up - odds are you will still be sitting at a table for 4 - so no one would benefit by you dropping that 1 person. But - BOG will allow a reservation for 1 to show up in the system if you drop a person.. The dropped ones can add up. I just finished scheduling dining for a trip in May. We were able to get into BOG PPO every day that we wanted it - all by piecing together reservations for 1.

UPDATE: apparently calling to have them adjust the number in the party is not as easy at it seems. i was put on hold for 30 minutes while the woman needed to get assistance with the change. another lady came on and took care of it in less than 5 minutes.

I wouldn't call to change the number. I would modify it online. I find the reservation on my itinerary page and them modify it from there.

So question... If you really are 1 and book for 1, does that mean you'll be put at a table with other people?

You seat yourself at breakfast and lunch. I'm not sure about the West Wing, but there are tables for two in the ballroom.

I get that, but if it's be people that they do the ADRs by for breakfast and lunch and not by table...

Really reconsidering that lunch ADR... If I wanted to (potentially) sit with others as a solo I'd book Biergarten.

Sorry. What??

The number of people. Dinner I know is by tables, but I understood that breakfast and lunch is by number of people - which is why you might get an ADR for 1 but not 2.

You can still sit where you want at lunch. You do not need to eat with anyone, unless it's super crowded and you can't find a table. If you book an early or late lunch, this shouldn't be a problem.

I wasn't able to modify the number online. 2 of my 4 ADRs I could because there was open reservations for our group size at or around the same time. This ADR was one that no other open reservations were available and I didn't want to lose the reservation accidentally.
