BOG-Lunch- What do you recommend?

Has anyone tried the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich? We have two of those pre-ordered for our May trip, but all these rave reviews about the Braised Pork and Ham and Cheese make me want to change our order!

That's what I had and I really liked it! It's on the menu for our June trip. Minus the horseradish sour cream, though.

I had the carved turkey sandwich and still crave it from time to time to this day. I went to BOG twice for lunch and had it both times, and it's what I'll have on this next trip too! And, if I can get us in for October when we go, it's what I'll have then! The turkey was truly carved turkey, and so tender and flavorful.

I know some people don't like the lunch at BOG, but I had great experiences and hope for another in the next month!

We tried both the braised pork and ham and cheese last week and both were great. We've also had the seared tuna salad and thought it was pretty good as well.

Definitely think that the strawberry cupcake is the way to go for dessert!

We have had the ham/cheese, turkey, braised pork, roast beef and french onion soup. I think the braised pork and soup were the best! Don't forget a cupcake. They are really yummy!

When BOG opened... the nutritional values could be seen online on the reservation page through the menus... looks like they deleted that option online. ...but I found a screenshot online, with partial values... With my own trip approaching, and with me just about to make ADR's, I had recently tried to find the values again... this is the best I could find... The Croque Monsieur, ham sandwich, is 1182 calories! That's a lot, for just a sandwich at one meal....

I'm thinking of our trip in June when it is going to be HOT HOT HOT and I think the hearty menu choices might not be ideal (I mean soup in the summer)? I wonder if the menu will change at all

The braised pork was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the quiche as well. And, of course, you gotta try the gray stuff. It's delicious! :rotfl:

My mom had the braised pork and I had the Croque Monsieur. Both were very tasty. We'd eat here again.

We also had dessert, I had the Master's (grey stuff) cupckae and my mom had the chocolate one or the éclair can't actually remember. Neither one was very good and neither one made an impression (obviously since I can't even remember what one of them was).

Hmmm. I had been thinking my child and I would split the Croque Monsier, then order a soup for each of us... perhaps 1/2 sandwich will be plenty on its own!

This is not a typical ham and cheese. The cheese is not American or swiss, not sure what kind but not kid friendly (maybe provolone or Gruyère). It also has a 'sauce'. Creamy, white, lightly spiced (thought it was garlic and maybe thyme) but not mayo.

It's also more pannini then grilled. So texture and oil content are also slightly different.

Here found a better description:

The bread was a hearty whole grain variety, which I prefer (I’m a big fan of seeds and grains in my bread, especially to add a little crunch to the softer sandwich fillings). The ham was cut in thick slices, and lent itself to more of a rustic French cafe feel, which seems to be what they are trying to achieve at lunch time.

The cheese was nutty and salty, and the béchamel blended in a bit with the cheese and soaked into the bread.

The Tuna Niçoise salad is very good. Comparable to, or probably the same as, the salad at GFC and similar to the Meditteranean Salad at The Wave. We also enjoyed the Master's Cupcake and the Cream Puff.

I've only been here once (in 2013), but here's another :thumbsup2 for the braised pork! I would definitely get it again.

French Onion soup was fine, but not as good as the one at Les Chefs. (I've read on here that BOG uses veg stock and Les Chefs uses beef stock, FWIW.)

I enjoyed the lemon cupcake.

Yep, its great paired with the French onion soup

Croque-monsieur is usually made with gruyère and the white sauce is probably bechamel sauce.

My sister and I weren't very hungry, as we went at around 10:30-ish in order to get in, so we split the roast beef sandwich and a Masters cupcake. We loved both.
