BOG lunch lines still crazy?

Will be arriving today and trying to formulate a plan for lunch. I never was able to do the FP for BOG. I see the crowd levels are REALLY low right now. Am I crazy to think I could just walk up at noon? We will be starving so if I'm looking at a 45 minute wait I will plan on doing something else.

On Thursday the lunch line at 12 was an hour and 15 minutes and they were giving out free water to people in line. I don't think you'll be able to walk right up! Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply! I actually JUST got an email inviting me to do the FP for BOG for later in our trip, so I'll schedule that and do something different today.

Definately do the FP. That was the only way to get in quickly when we were there last week. We had lunch and had to wait 35min. I heard they were going live with the FP option for lunch on Oct 1.

Is the best plan still to get in line around 1030 for when they open at 11?

If you want a walk up, I would get there at 10:30 for lunch.

Mine just opened up about a week or 2 ago for our trip on the 28th. Not sure when yours is so it might be awhile. Keep checking. I never received an email stating when/if I can use it so as I said, just keep checking. As far as I know it is just for BoG.

just tried to score a FP at BOG but they said there was none for the dates I was down there?? Can the FP for BOG go that quick?!?! I hate to think we have to wait in a long line...

This past Monday, Sept 30, I got in line at 11:30, and got into the castle at noon. VERY hot in line- they were handing out umbrellas for shade. The kiosk ordering system is very cumbersome- it would be much faster for castmembers to take your order. I ordered the croque monsieur, and it wasn't that good, but the strawberry cupcake was delish! I ate in the west wing, which was really cool- fun to see the prince's portrait change to the beast during the lightning. I'm glad I had a dinner reservation with my family that same night- that was WONDERFUL- fabulous food and service- we ordered a bottle of wine and were not rushed at all. We ate in the ballroom, and it was lovely. I was very surprised and confused that when we looked around, the room with the movie posters and the dancing statue was almost completely empty- so why no reservations available? My husband, adult son and I all agreed it was our best meal- we'd eat dinner there twice in one stay if we could!
