BOG hype

For my family, the hype is just because it’s a Beauty and the Beast restaurant! My kids know the movie by heart, it’s literally their favorite thing and the beast is their favorite character. One of them was even the beast for Halloween. Their maun Christmas wish list item is a beauty and the beast dollhouse that looks like the castle and has the furniture. You get the idea, they’re completely obsessed. So for us, getting to go to this restaurant is a very big deal, and I am ecstatic that I was able to get a dinner reservation for our May trip on my son’s birthday!

We have a BOG dinner reservation in May so it's interesting to read all the likes and dislikes. Since it's order from a menu and not a buffet, is it Ok for people to share a meal? (I'm fine paying an extra plate charge). We have some light eaters in the group and normally share a dinner - more for reasonable quantity rather than the cost.

I suppose you can share, but the entrees are not what I would call oversized. They were portioned just right for a single person at one meal.

Last trip, we celebrated my great niece’s second birthday. Her parents were set on having the meal in a castle for their princess. We set the date for the trip 4 months ahead of time so no ADR for 10 people at a reasonable hour was available at either Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Royal Table. My niece called Disney Dining and asked to be put on a waiting list for CRT.

I tried and tried to find an ADR. The best I could come up with was an ADR for 6 people at 5:10. I signed up for Touring Plans and that turned out to be only an exercise in frustration.

A week before the trip, I got lucky and hit on an ADR for 10 at 4:00. I’m sure it was because of people changing plans due to Irma.

All my trying and frustration turned out to be worth it. The meal was perfect in every way. The birthday girl was thrilled to carry Lumiere to our table. The Beast strolled through the restaurant periodically with his “scary wolf tail” which fascinated my other great niece. We pre-ordered the celebration dessert platter, and everyone got to meet the Beast.

The food was good and satisfying; no complaints about anything we ordered. I would eat there again although I would not go through all that aggravation to get an ADR again unless it was for a special occasion. I don’t think the popularity of BOG is going to wane anytime soon.

I've only gone for lunch.
I've been 8 times and will be 9 as of February.
I would not go for breakfast or dinner.
I really enjoy the food especially the dessert!
Its also such an amazing atmosphere for someone like me who absolutely adores BATB.
My entire family loves it even my parents in the 70's are drawn to it.

I love the lunch there, we book one every time we go and have never been disappointed. I'm also not interested in the breakfast or dinner, either. For some reason, we tend to avoid table service dinner at Magic Kingdom, nothing really seems all that appealing. If only Liberty Tree would use a regular menu for dinner then maybe I'd try it. But there's also nothing on the Be Our Guest dinner kid's menu that my son would be excited to eat either.

Been to BOG twice for lunch, we're not going back. The scenery is pretty cool, but food is meh. There are some good places to eat at WDW but much of what passes for "AMAZING" on these boards doesn't qualify with me.

Ambience. It really is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to, especially decked out for Christmas.

We had dinner there last summer, and were really disappointed. But my husband couldn't join us, so I made a lunch ressie when we were there last week. We were underwhelmed again.

Now that we've all been at least once, I don't think we'll be back again.

What an adorable photo!

I actually enjoy BOG both at lunch and at dinner. The food is good and the price is reasonable. It's a nice "get away" meal in an otherwise busy day at the MK.

We got exactly what we were told to expect and loved it! Have enjoyed lunch there each trip and will go again soon. We cancelled the dinner plans we had first trip and from looking at the menu and the prices - have no regrets.

We get the same thing each time we go - braised pork and french onion soup and have not been disappointed at all. Love dining in the west wing and have enjoyed each lunch there.

I think I got my answers .. The atmosphere I agree on. The food, seems like most are like me. Not the best but I guess I shouldn't expect it to be since it's not a signature restaurant. If my girls want to go back then we will but only for the beast! Not the food, unless its breakfast and the chance for an early ADR to beat the crowds. We love CRT and will book it for at least 2 dinners.
