BOG - how many do the round tables seat?

Hi! I'm trying to get a BOG reservation for 7 people under the 180 day mark. (Ha ha - I know, I'm a dreamer.)

I'm wondering if anyone knows how many people the round tables seat? If it's 8, maybe I will have better luck searching for a party of 8? Disney can make more money off 8 people, right, so maybe they open an 8-top first? (We do have a sweet uncle who will be at Disney and he can possibly join us for dinner if we land a ressie for 8 - so we're ethical.)

I just ate there last night with a party of six and there was an extra chair so they seem to normally seat 7 but could probably accommodate 8.

Oh - so I AM better off searching for 7? Interesting.

Not really sure what I'm doing here. Pretty sure it's a hopeless case anyway. :)

We were a party of seven and they took away an extra setting so 8 would fit. I would try for both sizes.

Make the reservation for the maximum number of people who may be dining, so in your case, 8 people. If your Uncle doesn't come, just let the CM at the podium know there are only 7 of you. It's so much easier to show up with fewer people, than to try and add more when you arrive.

There's no guarantee that you'll be seated at a round table. The CMs will determine what will work best that night. If being at a round table is important you can request it, but it may mean you'll have to wait longer.

To the person who asked about tables for 6: tables come in all different sizes starting with 2 tops. They can certainly put a 4 and 2 together to make a 6 top, but I assume there are some 6 tops available. We saw all different sized groups seated.

DU doesn't really WANT to go to dinner at BOG. I was just selfishly going to make him go if it might mean getting a reservation for my little girls. I think I saw on the boards here that some people found reservations easier with even numbers - for example, if a restaurant has a lot of 4-people booths and you have a party of 3, you might get a reservation faster by searching for a group of 4. (Anybody know if that's true or just an urban-Disney-legend? :) )

From the pictures it just looked like BOG had a heck of a lot of 8-top round tables. That's why I asked - I don't care what kind of table we might get!

It's true. Disney's reservation system has a quirk that wants to fill as many seats as possible, so it is harder for odd numbered groups to consistently get what they want. Even though a group of 3 would usually be seated at a 4 top, the system wants to fill all 4 seats, so it will often not let a party of 3 book the table. If you then look for a party of 4 it will let you book. We've had this happen frequently because we're a party of 3.
