So I have secured FP for BOG although the menu for lunch doesn't really trip the trigger?? However the spicy chicken waffle sandwich sounds divine. Opinions on fighting thru the crowd at BOG (with FP) and just having dessert for the experience or dropping this stop altogether?:confused3

Honestly if nothing on the menu sounds good I wouldn't go just for dessert. It's just cupcakes/creme puffs and just ok cupcakes at that. I'd bypass the whole experience unless it's something you just really feel you have to see.

The chicken waffles are very yummy. :). If that's calling to you more I'd do that. They also have fantastic funnel cakes for dessert.

Ugghhh this is just me, but I am just not interested in being in that restaurant just yet. It's stunning and absolute epic but the craziness there and people waiting on line for an hour just to get in kind of turn me off. And the menu just doesn't do it for me.

I am however extremely interested in sleepy hollow this time as I have just learned about all of the yummy stuff they offer *fruit and Nutella waffle* ahem!

If it were me, I'd go for SH but that's just me.

I'm leaning more that direction, it would open up our morning a bit more so we arent tied to that reservation..... Would love to see the castle but, not sure it is worth giving up that valuable time?? I see they did however finally add grilled cheese and fries (at least something my boys would eat!!

Every one has differant tastes. What one person finds good another hates. If you don't like what they have on the menu then don't go, it's that simple. We had FP+ for lunch and ADR for dinner and totally enjoyed both. There was no "fighting through the crowds and craziness". We will go back again.

I'd just get the crème puffs for dessert. I love the crème puffs and I think the inside is magical. That said I think we're going to skip BOG on our next trip.

DH and I were just talking about this. Nothing on the lunch menu seems appealing for our personal taste. My kids eat more than just mac and cheese and nuggets, but their appetites wouldn't be appeased either. That being said, they are all ecstatic about being in the castle...especially my 8 yr old that loves Belle! We will have an afternoon snack there in order to give them the experience.

I was really excited to try the chicken waffle sandwich. The concept is fantastic, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. The flavor was great, but because the waffle gets soggy, it turns into a hot mess rather quickly....might I suggest asking for the waffle well done?? If they'll do that for you.

Here was mine

That being said, we have only done BOG for dinner but we loved it!!! I'm not sure about the lunch menu, but you've got to follow your belly on this one. :goodvibes

The fp at lunch allows you to bypass the line. We were there December 23, quite a busy time, and we walked past the line and had to only wait about 5 minutes to place an order since we did not preorder our meals. We were served in less than 10 minutes from sitting down.

Our group of four each tried a different dessert at BoG, and they were just "okay." They definitely looked a lot better than they tasted (the strawberry cupcake was a big letdown for me). That being said, the patron in front of us at Sleepy Hollow got a chicken waffle, and it looked AMAZING.

We really love the waffle sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow. The food at BOG was fine, but we really went for the atmosphere and to see inside. If I had to choose based on food alone, Sleepy Hollow would win hands down. And definitely try the Nutella with fruit waffle, too. It is really wonderful. We were able to share one chicken and one nutella/fruit among the 3 of us.

I got the ham and cheese waffle sand which. It was good. I saw the Nutella one. It looked amazing! Lots of fresh fruit on it!

Figure out the seating before you go. I had a cranky toddler and didn't see an obvious seating area. We ended up eating in Columbia Harbor House.

We've never been to BOG but I will say Sleepy Hollow is worth a try. We've stopped here on our last two visits and I love the spicy chicken waffle. I want to try the Nutella waffle but cannot resist the spicy chicken.

I really like the lunch at BOG, and the Fastpass system there is great. A couple weeks ago we got in line, ordered and were at a seat in less than 5 minutes using it. And I adore their cupcakes.

That said, I loved the spicy chicken waffle, though they did mean it when they said SPICY. I was not impressed with the slaw, though.

I have a question about BOG FP. It's almost my 60 day window so I was just checking on things and read (somewhere on here) that you need a 12 digit number to make the reservation. I wasn't sure what number that was so I called and was told I can only make BOG FP reservations if I was sent an email asking me to participate, but I've never heard of this???!

Is there a kiosk that you use to do the fp? I've tried to see if they offer it on MDE but don't see it.

The number you need is you room reservation #. If you booked a package it is not the one that has letters in it but if you go to your resort reservation on MDE and hover over it you will see the # in the link. It is also the number on your band if I recall correctly. The FP is not made through the regular FP system but through the separate website and does not use one of your three FP selections. The ability to make reservations has typically been about mid month prior to the reservation. For example March reservations mid February , April reservations in mid March.

The chicken waffle is ok, the BRAISED PORK at lunch at BOG is AMAZING!!! We thought the sandwiches at BOG were ok, but a couple of weeks ago got another FP+ and tried the Braised pork, and I can't wait to go back!!!

Tough choice. On our last trip - we did both on different days.

If it helps you out, we are going BACK to Sleepy Hollow for lunch this trip. We are going to Be Our Guest for dinner (no kids).

These (and our mandatory trip through Casey's - a silly family tradition) are the only repeated restaurants from our last trip.

Wait.

I guess we are repeating Tangierine, too.

My, I am not much help, at all. :joker:
