BOG experience

I have yearned to eat here since this restaurant opened. I was able to snag a dinner reservation and breakfast reservation for our trip this June. I do not plan to keep both reservations. So I am looking for honest opinions about which one to keep. Will I be cheated out of a great experience if we do the QS option? Or is it just as magical? Is the food at dinner desirable for kids? My DD10 is pretty picky. (We also will be on the dining plan where she qualifies as an adult) I appreciate any input anyone has on this topic. Thanks so much!

my family personally prefers the dinner over the breakfast and even lunch. you can possibly (likely) meet the Beast and the food overall is just better IMO.

Dinner is more magical than quick service. Both are good uses of your regular dining plan. Will your daughter eat steak? It comes with green beans and french fries and is one of the pricier meals. My husband always orders it, and it looks very kid friendly. Our daughter is a vegetarian, so I cannot provide a bona fide kid review of that dish, unfortunately.

Dinner is much better than breakfast or lunch at BOG. There's no comparison. My daughter usually has grilled cheese and soup. It's much easier to get reservations for breakfast and lunch than dinner. So, I'd recommend that you hang onto that dinner reservation. We really didn't like having lunch at BOG. It was really crowded and difficult to find a place to sit. That isn't a problem at dinner.

I'm one of the few here on the board that really likes BOG breakfast. All three of us loved it - the food was excellent, and service was quick. We did have an 8:05am ADR, so that probably made a difference in the atmosphere - it was quiet, and calm.

We hated lunch. The food was terrible. The vibe was very chaotic and crowded, noisy cafeteria. We had trouble finding seats, and when we did find an empty table, it was dirty, and the CM seemed really put out by us asking to clean one off for us. If the food had been good I'd give it another chance, but it wasn't, so it's not worth trying to get the ADR, for us, again.

I haven't had dinner there, and, against most of the thought here, I really have no interest in trying it. Based on breakfast and lunch there, I just feel like it's not a cozy enough space for a fancy dinner. Maybe dinner is set up different, I don't know, but the atmosphere just doesn't appeal to me for a TS.

Dinner. Dinner dinner dinner. The menu isn't too adventurous (technically i think they call it French, but it's pretty American). You want to be able to take your time, and I feel like (at least for me) breakfast ADRs make me fee like I'm wasting park time.

We really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner but if I had to pick only one it would be dinner. Our breakfast was pre park opening and I'd probably only do breakfast there again if it was another PPO. Dinner was a more relaxed experience for us and you can meet the Beast after dinner on your way out so that was a bonus. The food quality was much better at dinner as well. We had the steak which was cooked perfectly and of course The Grey Stuff for dessert. My 7yo daughter enjoyed her meal as well.

Keep dinner! We do both breakfast and dinner here but, honestly, I think of BOG breakfast as a glorified CS restaurant that simply allows us to get into the park early. While tasty, breakfast just doesn't compare to dinner at BOG. Sure Beast shows up for all of 6 seconds, but there is something that is just so special about eating in that castle for dinner.

We enjoyed BOG dinner so much we ended up keeping the "spare" dinner reservation I had there 2 days after the first one.

We all loved the rolls and the steak. I tried the seafood the 2nd time and didn't care for it (we could have seriously eaten our weight in rolls!)

I canceled the PPO breakfast reservation for tomorrow because I didn't want to ruin my kids' memories of their dinners. It was definitely our favorite meal at WDW.

I've never done breakfast, so take this for what it's worth, but we've done dinner twice and are going a third time in July. I've read multiple reports here stating that breakfast (and lunch, as above) feel like a cafeteria. We love the atmosphere of dinner.

We enjoy BOG breakfast. I like the Assorted Cured Meats and Cheese. My husband likes the Scrambled Egg Whites for breakfast. We also enjoy BOG dinner. This trip we will be doing both. Now on the other hand the lunch is quite noisy and the food seems to have lost some of it's original charm. I would say a QS for breakfast is a good deal. Dinner is enjoyable as well. A good meal for a TS credit. I would read the menus and decide on your personal preferences.

We haven't had breakfast, but we have eaten lunch and dinner there. There really is no comparison when it comes to the "magic" and atmosphere for dinner. Someone gets to carry in Lumiere, there is a grand announcement when the Beast comes in and when dinner is finished you are taken to the study to meet the Beast. It was loud and noisy at lunch. It just seemed more grand at dinner. Take a look at the menu from allears.net to get an idea of what they serve to see if your daughter can find something she likes.

Only been there for dinner and I have to say it was a very good experience. It met all my expectations and more. Now my friend has only done lunch there and he and his family were less than impressed. To the point they won't go back. I have tried to talk him into going for dinner because we had a very good experience there. The food was good. We had the steak and it was pretty good. The atmosphere is really great too. And then you have the Beast. Love the Beast!!

We have been for all three meals, unless your breakfast ADR is before the park opens I would keep the dinner one. Breakfast was fine and we were there at 8:05 and were able to walk on 7dmt and PP so that was a plus. We enjoyed dinner very much. We also like lunch, we always get the earliest lunch reservation so it is not as chaotic.

We definitely prefer dinner HOWEVER, QS still gives you the opportunity to see inside the castle which is a plus :) either way, it is awesome!!

I have only done dinner and lunch. Dinner was a much better "experience!" Less chaotic, less noise, food was served fresh, and there is a meet and greet with the beast!

Lunch was just fine. On top of the chaos and noise, my biggest problem with that meal was that everything came out at the same time. By this I mean all the "courses." I ordered soup and by the time I finished it, my fries served with my sandwich were cold. The sandwich did not get cold because it is no longer served hot. I imagine with breakfast, the pastries come out at the same time as your meal. I personally would not enjoy cold eggs, fried doughnuts, bacon, or quiche.

Dinner has pretty traditional options. If your daughter is ok with steak, chicken, lamb, or pork, there will be a decent option. The grey stuff has also been changed from the (hard) brownie to a chocolate cup now. The cupcakes are also delicious! I believe you can also sub one of those delicious soups for the dessert if you would like.

On the dining plan, the QS breakfast is a much better "value" than the TS dinner. Those breakfasts are the highest value QS option you can pretty much find. Dinner will only maximize a credit if you order the more expensive entrees.

As others have mentioned, unless you want a PPO breakfast ADR, I would personally go with dinner it is more about the "magic" and "experience" rather than value. I believe it is definitely the more sought after ADR for a reason.

I personally would definitely enjoy another TS dinner there on a future trip, but will be skipping QS lunch and breakfast.

We really enjoyed dinner when we went. We haven't been to breakfast and probably won't, because the menu just doesn't appeal to me. But dinner was an experience we wouldn't hesitate to repeat.
