Lunch is a perfectly adequate QS option at MK and if you are just looking to check it out and not really super worried about the ambiance as much I would say skip dinner and hold out for a lunch ADR to come up. I put an alert on Touring Plans for an ADR and had great success with it!
We've tried both lunch and dinner and I would recommend trying both to everyone to see which you prefer. At the end of the day, we decided that we were happy we had a dinner at BoG and got photos with Beast, but we will probably only visit for lunch on future visits. I don't think the experience is worth "repeating" each visit, based on the cost.
I guess I'm asking is this place worth the hype?
Yes there is, but still plan on taking a camera of some sort because the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking. And you will want a photo in front of the stained glass. (There is not a photographer there)We have an adr here on our last night of a 14 day vacation at wdw..We also have the memory maker..Is there Disney photographers there to take photos with the big man.?...
You can just order a side or dessert.we have dinner reservations next month and I was wondering if i had to order a main entree? can I just order dessert or an appetizer?
Adults have to order off the adult menu. As far as the kids not eating much, their kids menu is pretty cheap (10-12$) and they can split a meal.We have both lunch and dinner ADRs at BOG for November but I'm thinking of canceling the dinner since we're paying OOP and it is very expensive... especially since my children don't eat enough to keep a cricket alive. I know adults are allowed to order a kid's meal at lunch, but is that also an option at dinner?

(also, you HAVE to try the lemon cupcake! Best cupcake I have ever had!)

Thanks! Could our whole family of 4 order only desserts? If we have a dinner ADR, would they make somebody order an entree? Our reservation is at 6:35 on a party night, so we don't want to spend a lot of time eating in a restaurant and missing the party events. But I would love to meet the Beast!
The beast will be there until the restaurant closes, so yes, you will see him. Most TS restaurants say only kids under 10 can order off the children's menu, but I suppose you can ask.One more question. I'm an adult, picky eater. If I decide to pay out of pocket, instead of using my dining plan, can I order from the child's menu for dinner at BOG?

I suppose you never know, but with less than 2 weeks to go, I figure I was lucky enough to snag a dinner.
The steak dinner looks good for the kids as each thing seems separate, the vegetable and fries and steak, all things they like. Most other steak dishes at other restaurants look too complicated on top of all kinds of stuff they wouldn't like. I know about substitutions, but sometimes it just gets complicated.
Some will make it an adult portion and charge higher, if it's just a matter of liking something a little plainer.
