Has anyone done it? Is the line insane? I tried to get a ADR for both of my MK days and neither are available. Is breakfast even worth it? The prices look a little steep so I am guessing it is TS and not QS for breakfast like it is for lunch. I have only eaten dinner at BOG so I have no clue if it is worth it as a walk up but 2 members in my party have NEVER been to WDW and I wanted them to see it.

YOu pretty much have to have an ADR to get in. Very, very few get lucky as walk-ups.

Believe it or not, it is considered a QS meal at breakfast...even at those prices. Ridiculous.

"Worth it" is very subjective and your mileage may vary. For me and my family? Not just no but hell no.

We ate breakfast there when it was "only" $20 per person for breakfast, and still didn't feel like it was worth it. The Walmart or worse quality pastry tray failed to impress us as upping the perceived "value" many seem to feel they get out of those cheap tasting pastries.

Even if they let you wait, I would not waste valuable morning time waiting in line and eating - especially if you are with newbies who have so much to see and do!

To be honest, even though I enjoy this breakfast, unless I was booked at a PPO meal, I would not waste precious time eating when there are sights to see and attractions to be on. If you can get a lunch ADR, that is a different story. If you tend to break for lunch this is a nice restaurant in terms of theme, and is CS as well.

While I haven't tried it yet, I have to agree with pp that the only value of this meal would be as a pre-park opening meal. That's just way too much money for me to consider spending on a quick service breakfast otherwise.

And also like others have said it's extremely rare to be able to walk up and get into this restaurant. I'm not sure when you are going but keep checking for ADRs as people do cancel right up until the day before.

ETA: Lunch is really good and a pretty good value IMO as it's one of the better QS meals at Disney.

I don't think you'll get in without an ADR. Value is relative, but I think breakfast is only a good value on the DDP. Lunch and dinner are better values, especially if you're like me and all you want is soup and a cupcake.

Only if "value" is expressed in total cost. I'd argue the average Bounty Platter at a resort food court is a better "value" for food quantity, variety and etc.
Like I said in my post, value is relative. Personally I don't find much value in those bounty platters since I'll only eat two or three items on them and the rest would end up in the trash.

There really is no line as they don't generally take walk ups. Your chances are slim and none and slim is on vacation. If there was availability you would be able to book it.
All that said, folks do cancel so keep checking
As PP's said it is QS for both breakfast and for lunch regardless of the price.

We walked up last September so I guess it depends on what time of year it is? We had an extra QS from our first day and wanted to grab breakfast. We stopped at the Starbucks and asked the CM outside if their was a place we could get a QS breakfast in the park. She directed us to BOG but warned us that we might not get in. After getting up there the CM at the entrance told us to go to the booth the ladies are in for check in. I told them we didn't have an ADR and they said "no problem just head on in". We walked right in, straight to a kiosk and ordered. Food came fast and was great. we were on dining plan so I didn't pay attention to the prices but we enjoyed everything and came back that night for a dinner ADR.
My favorite part is the food carts they use that go from warmers to coolers. It's all based on the same tech we use in the NICU for the babies so I was all up in their business wanting to know how they used the Iphones with it and the turn over time between hot/cold. There was also some Tampa Bay Buccaneers there with their families eating and were extremely nice!

The times when we have been there, the CMs were always turning away the people who did not have ADRs. I think it is very, very unlikely that you could get in without a reservation. Also, I agree with the others that breakfast is only good if it is PPO. Lunch, however, is a great meal and a must do for us.

People keep saying that breakfast at BoG is a good value on the DDP, but that assumes that the DDP is a good value...which it isn't for *most* people that purchase the DDP.

I wouldn't say most people - DDP is a great deal for a lot of people. We do primarily character meals and we'll have a BOG breakfast, so we will end up saving hundreds. If you sign up for it and just go to random restaurants with no planning, yes, it is a waste.

So, you're an exception. That's why I said MOST, instead of all.

It's a good value for us too. I would say it's about a 50/50 split on the DDP being a good value or not.

Agreed. I've talked to more people who save money than those who think it's a waste. And the dissatisfied people are generally more vocal about hating it, so that percentage might actually be higher for people who find it a good value. At any rate, it works if you work it.

My point is more that the reason BOG breakfast is a "good value" on DDP is because it is heinously overpriced even by the standards of theme park food. So it's a bit of a false value. It's also out of line with some of the other points where DDP equals "value," because the price range for, say, character TS is pretty defined. BOG is out of line with the QS cost for any other breakfast, or, really, almost any other QS meal entirely save if you play around with options at Flame Tree.

Exactly.

Disney's not in the business of losing money. If "most" people were coming out ahead on the DDP, Disney would eliminate the DDP or raise the prices to alleviate it quickly. If you want to take the time to schedule a bunch of character meals and order the most expensive things on the menus to make it feel like you "beat" Disney, more power to you. You're still in the minority.

It assumes that as far as a credit goes, the cost of this meal goes far.

I get annoyed what people arbitrarily suggest the DDP is not a good value. What you mean is that it is not a good value for you. My family goes to character meals. We go to bog. We get dessert drinks and love steak. We never lose money. I don't plan my meals around the plan. I plan the plan around my meals.

A lot of people do this deliberately. We do, and we like to schedule that time. This is how we vacation. Actually, the tickets would probably be the loss if you consider how we tour. I do not care if we only hit three attractions per oark. But that's us.
