It has been quite the frustrating experience trying to get a BOG reservation for our group. It is the only request my in-laws who are traveling with us made and I want to come through!

First, we have hotel reservations at 2 places, so we couldn't book 180+10days from our first hotel reservation, so we've had to wait "patiently" until today. We got on the phone as soon as they open and tried for it right away today, but...
Second, they cannot book a table for 13 of us so were going to split us into 2 groups...but can't because we are staying in one room (a grand villa...a 3 bdrm unit) so only have one reservation number.

Ughh. They gave us an email to try to make our reservation. How do you suppose that's going to turn out? It's Sunday of Memorial Day weekend...they'll probably get right back to me, right? :sad1:

Sorry to complain. I just figures if anyone could understand the disappointment and frustration, it would be the people on this board.

After more than an hour on the phone, we actually have NO reservations! Still on hold to talk to someone else, but for some reason, they can't make any reservations for us past 180 days. They suggested we call back each day. :crazy2:
But it's hard enough to get reservations for our size group, especially at Thanksgiving time and it's not supposed to work like this! What a frustrating morning!
Seriously, what can we do about this?

We ended up getting nowhere. They said call back on Tuesday and ask for a certain person who is working on the problem today. I know this is stupid to get upset over dining reservations, but after all the planning and preparations, I just want to cry.

Are you able to get 180+10 online for a smaller group for your day at MK? You may want to try booking an ADR for a group of 8 first on MDE site and then for a group of 5 or 6 for a similar time period (may be easier to get an ADR for 6 than 5) on GB site using the same reservation confirmation number. I noticed that sometimes when I am changing reservations using both MDE and GB sites the ones made in one system don't get cancelled automatically if they are made for the same or similar time window, and I have to cancel them separately later. Also if you try for the day later into you trip you may have more openings for BOG available and more chance for 2 reservations within a similar time frame.

I can empathize with the feeling of "it's just dining reservations, why am I so upset?". 2 months after we booked and I made all our ADRs, we had to move the date by a week. I cannot get BOG, Le Cellier or the Pirates and Pals cruise (been trying for 3 weeks now) and originally I had them all.
And, like you, I keep trying to tell myself "it's just dining reservations" - so far it's not working.

I just wanted you to know you're not alone. Good luck.

Thank you guys!

After much work! MANY calls! A bunch of misinformation and confusion! We were able to make our ADRs to our relative satisfaction.

I did end up getting BOG reservations for 2 smaller groups 5 minutes apart.

I still really think they need a manual override to solve computer glitches and A LOT more training. We were told so many wrong answers that took so much time until we got to someone who could really figure out what to do. :headache:

We spent 16 hours on and off accomplishing everything yesterday!

Verry happy for you and your familly, hope you'll have a great time. Disney magic worked after all...:)

I completely feel your pain. Yesterday was my 180 day mark and I got online as usual to make ADRs. When I couldn't get CRT, I called and made the rest online. I waited on hold for almost 50 minutes and then spoke to a less than magical CM. Everyone has a bad day, but all I was trying to do was figure out what was going on and she was not helpful. I hung up and called back. This time I got a wonderful CM who explained the problem to me.

FYI - two problems. The automated system is stuck on November 22 and the calendars for CRT haven't been loaded yet for Thanksgiving week.

Okay, this is not good. Crossing my fingers for everyone trying to get into CRT.

I'm glad to hear that you got in. I will be trying for a group of 16 for BOG in July for our Jan trip. This might be old info, but I read on the Planning Strategy Calculator web site that for parties larger than 9 to call 407-WDW-DINE and ask for "Group Sales" and you will need your credit card.
Is this still true? I can't book our rooms until June 22, so I will try calling after I have a reservation#. I hope it will work. Like you, this is the one request of the rest of the family.
