Hi all.. well.. those of us who are left anyway! :)

While packing last night, I discovered that my Bodyglide was nearly depleted. SOOOOOoooooooo... I am making a Bodyglide run after work.

I figured there might be someone else in the same predicament who isn't as fortunate as I to have a local supplier!

Soooooo.. Does anyone need me to pick them up some Bodyglide? I will bring it to the POP meeting if you do... It is not an imposition... but a pleasure to assist.. so.. let me know.

I will be making the trip to the store at 5:00 pm eastern time. So, as long as you get your order in before then, I will have it for you on Friday!

Wonderful!!

I actually picked up a tiny container of body glide from the running store - so it will pack in the fanny pak!! I threw my regular body glide into the box I shipped to the resort (and according to FedEx it arrived!!)

Please don't laugh about my next question..:rotfl2:
What is the difference between bodyglide and vaseline?

I have no clue!! LOL!! I just know that it works for me.. is not greasy... and really prevents that chub rub :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

It looks like deodorant... and I have heard tale of folks that use deodorant as a preventative measure also. But, I can never remember what kind.. so.. I just stick to bodyglide!

It is great on your feet also.. between your toes.. prevents blisters!! And feels sooooooo when you walk!

1. Try the high tech stuff like Bodyglide instead of vaseline. The first lasts much longer and is more effective.

2. I once did a half-Ironman and by mile 10 (out of 56) my inner thighs and crotch were chafed and raw. Needless to say, the rest of the triathlon was not that much fun. The chafing is due to friction - a body part is rubbing against another body part or clothing. This rubbing will cause friction which will irritate and may even wear-away the skin. The best way to prevent the irritation is to eliminate the friction - and the best way to do this is lubrication. Often along marathon courses, volunteers will be offering tongue depressors dripping with vaseline! But, this works. A bit of vaseline between the thighs, or around the nipples, or under the arms or wherever you are experiencing chafing will really help. I find vaseline to be a bit messy, so I have switched to Bodyglide. This is a semi-solid stick that looks like underarm deodorant. You run it on the sensitive spot and you should be free from chafing. Also, for nipples, you can even place a band-aid over each one to prevent the chafing.

3. Apply body glide or vaseline to areas that might chaffe or blister. Toes, heals, any place that clothing might rub.

4. For years, I heard people rave about Bodyglide. It's a clear, anti-friction lotion first made for hikers and campers. It's $10 and comes in the container/shape of a deodorant stick. I ordered it recently from www.rei.com. It prevents problems, and it really works!

5. Its better than Vaselline because its not slimy, and it wont drip off. It doesnt damage clothes, and it’ll stay in place for as long as your marathon lasts. I put it under my socks, between my legs, around my sports bra and my shorts waist band. You can get it at any running store or sports store. Here’s the website: http://www.bodyglide.com/ Good luck!

I hope this helps! I went out to Dick's Sporting Goods last night to pick up some Bodyglide. The sales clerk said they couldn't help me, said they didn't carry it, and even checked with a manager - they said to try Sports Authority or a local fitness machine retailer. :confused3 Then I walked around the corner and found a hanging fixture with about 12 containers of the stuff. :headache: It was $9.99.

Thanks Howard for making it so much more official than... I like it cause it's less messy!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Got those whips ready, btw! :rolleyes1  :woohoo: :scared:

I usually don't get any chaffing. Maybe it is because I slather so much sunblock lotion on my body. :rotfl2:

I got some stuff for blisters made by Band-Aid called Blister Block that I found at Walgreens. Is this comparable? Just wondering in case others just ran out and need to get something before the race.

Tricia, Blister Bloc is not the same thing. I'm thinking there will probably be Body Glide for sale some where at the Expo. For the first timers, the Expo is HUGE!! For those in winter temps right now...Don't forget SUNSCREEN!!! :goodvibes
