Which one works the best???

Last visit my DH thighs got chafed pretty bad so this time we want to make sure he won't have the pain and inconvienience ;)

Any tips greatly appreciated!! Thanks :)

I highly recommend the Body Glide. We bought it at a sporting goods store, and it worked wonderfully. My husband had so much chafing on a previous trip that his legs were actually bleeding. Found out about Body Glide on the DIS and used it on the last trip with wonderful results.

I can honestly say, that they both worked well~ We used them both last time and both were great. :thumbsup2

One thing is, the Body Glide will last longer but I have them both packed for septembers trip! :goodvibes

Good Luck :)

What is Body Glide? My DH gets really bad chafing on his thighs with alot of walking and it is really painful. When it happens, he uses our sons diaper rash medicine to help it get better. :lmao: We didn't know there is something to help keep it from happening. Does this Body Glide stuff really work?

Body Glide works really well. We bought it at Dick's Sporting Goods for $8 I think.

Body glide

Dd swears by it and I use it for the feet for not only blisters but it seems to make it more comfortable as well with it sliding in my Keens.

I think you would benefit from having a combination of treatments. We swear by our body glide product, but it may not be enough. Use the body glide during the day, and make sure to carry it with you so you can reapply it as needed. It will make the legs slippery, but if chaffing does occur, it will not help to heal the skin.

I think it is also a good idea to have something handy to treat any skin irritation. At night, we clean irritated, red skin well with an alcohol product like Sea Breeze. It really burns but kills anything growing on the skin and often helps to heal irritated skin overnight. After cleaning with Sea Breeze, it might be good to apply a product containing clomitrozole. It will kill yeast that loves to grow in hot, humid conditions. Carry the clomitrozole with you as well and apply it on any skin in moist areas as soon as any itching or discomfort begins.

My husband stopped having any problems anywhere by using these three items.

Couldn't find body glide in time for my last trip, but used spray on Secret anti-perspirant (I think that it's the anti-perspirant that does the job, not the deodorant part) liberally on thighs, feet, anywhere that might chafe. Wore skirts often and had no problems in September.

well now i think i can safely say i have seen every topic possible on these boards

I've never tried body glide but we've tried the other two and they both work great althought Monistat seems to work better. The only thing that worries me now is can I bring it on the plane with me or pack it away? some of us with chubby thighs need all the help we can get! :teeth: Helen

As my job requires me to be outside walking for most of my shift, I've found that putting on baby powder (pure cornstarch) in the morning does the trick for me during hot and humid weather. I use it all over and it does a great job keeping me dry. :thumbsup2

Careful with that deodorant, It is not supposed to be placed on the entire body and can cause swelling, additional irritation and even in extreme cases death. Body glide works well as does the monostat, body glide as a solid travels better than the nonstat (gel liguid). Also body glide looks like a deo. container so it slides into your bag easier.

I bought the Montistat last year and found it was good but you do need to reapply it throughout the day. Will have to pick the other one up in Orlando!

You can do a search (yahoo, google, dog pile) on Body Glide. You can then search their web site for a store near you.

Very easy to find. Glad to hear that Dick's has this too, they are building a Dick's in our area opening soon.

I bought the Monostat for our trip. We are only spending 3 days in the parks so there won't be day after day of walking. There are some great tips on how to use it. Thank you

Has anyone tried the body glide while swimming?

My son sometimes ends up with an irritated spot from his bathing suit and I was thinking about trying it to see if it helps. We plan on going to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach along with swimming at the hotel.

So, I went looking for Body Glide right before my July trip, and found it sold out everywhere because the big Seattle-to-Portland bike riders bought it up! At a hunting supply store, it was suggested that I try something called Anti Monkey Butt. It was a powder, and it seemed to work great (although I am a bit paranoid, and so combined it with another product which I don't remember.)

On an amusing, but embarrasing side note: When I was looking for Body Glide at this hunting supply store, they did one of those store intercom announcements, asking for the Anti Monkey Butt. It was like a flashback to being a teenager, and having a price check on feminine hygiene products!
