I hope this is the right forum for this question. So...I saw the new specialty drinks to be served in Pandora's restaurants. ...though they look pretty and innovative, I gotta humble myself and ask..."What's a Boba ball?" This has escaped my otherwise informed life. It looks like either what I take out of a fish when I clean her, OR what I use as bait. Sorry! Just an observation. ...but it might be delicious. Enlighten me, please!

Boba balls are tapioca balls (Though they are flavored many different ways) that burst with juice when a person bites/chews them. You'll find them most often in bubble tea or at frozen yogurt places.

Ok...next question...bubble tea? ....but that's for another day. I'll have to look at my next fro yo adventure. Thanks.

They have a drink at Skippers Canteen with the balls.

It looks fun but the balls are a funky texture and i didnt see anyone finish the drink including DD

Boba is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I LOVE it. My favorite part of getting bubble tea is chewing on some boba while I drink.

My nieces are really into it. I'd never tried it before but had the one at Skipper's last Fall & really enjoyed it. Fun & different. I thought it was def worth trying.

It depends on what kind they use. The more traditional ones are tapioca (which i think are gross), but there are some that tend to be sweeter and have gel on the inside. You see them at FroYo places pretty often.

We had our first boba tea place by my college in the 90's, I thought they were gone by now. :) Not my thing and I don't really see them around anymore. DH really likes it though.

I love the flavored Boba Balls. They come in alot of different flovors.
Which is what it looks like they are using in the new Pandora drinks and also what is used at Skipper Canteen.
I'm not a big fan of the tapioca ones, but love the flavored ones.
Bubble Tea is called Bubble tea because of the Boba balls or "bubbles" that are put in the tea.
You can get bubble tea in China at Epcot, but they use the tapioca balls in that one.
They also offer bubble tea at the China Flower & garden and Food and Wine kiosks usually.
Like PP's have said most Fro Yo places have them ina variety of different flavors to put in your Fro Yo.

This part of life has completely missed me! SO enlightened now! They sound awful to me...but I don't like things like Gushers or texture-y things. They LOOK cool though. Maybe I'll get brave and try it. Boba balls. :rainbow:

I actually prefer the tapioca balls to the bursting fruit ones. They're not juicy, but they're really chewy. They kind of have the texture of a dumpling (like chicken and dumplings, not potstickers), but they're spherical and somewhat sweet.
